Humphrey's POV

Finally, the day of the seating plan had arrived. I wasn't that concerned about it, but Salty, Shaky and Mooch hadn't shut up about it since Monday when it was announced on the student bulletin that we would be in permanent seats. Tables are going to be organised for students to be sat in boy girl pairs, which meaning we'd be stuck with the same person for the rest of this year.

It's Wednesday now and, if I'm being honest, I just want this ordeal to be over and done with. I only have my hopes set on sitting with one of the people in my tutor. Kate Wilson. I've had a crush on her since I was moved up into the 'L' set (Higher) From 'R' (Lower) in year eight, and now I'm year eleven. I feel like, now that I'm in my final year and I'm turning seventeen this July coming, I should try and make a move. I don't have a crazy, stalkerish crush on her, but god do I like her. Her fur is a gorgeous, golden tan colour, she has the most amazing golden eyes, and a figure most girls would die for. She also wore glasses which I thought was pretty cute. But then again, she's cute in general.

I'm really hoping I get sat with her though. Her and my little, fifteen, going on sixteen year old sister Nikki (In the year below) Is really good friends with her sister Lilly and I'm always told about how nice Kate is. She's always considerate of others, she's kind and caring, like the perfect wolf. Salty, Shaky and Mooch aren't the most reassuring friends in the world. They often say things like 'You've got no chance dude' and 'She's way out of your league man'.

I think I can see why they say that. She is one of the prettiest girls in the school, she's part of the cheer-leading squadron for our school football team the Jasper Jesters, she has good grades and good friends. But despite all of that, I try not to listen to them. I feel like the best thing for me to do is to try keep my feelings as friendly and keep her as a good friend if even that.

Finally the bell rang out for people to get to tutor. I had been waiting by tutor for most of the morning since I'd gotten into school early. I was by myself, as usual, because my gay friend Hutch was at the orthodontist and Salty, Shaky and Mooch were in Maths revision until the start of period one. Their not in my tutor anyway though either so I'm probably not going to see them until break.

I also decided to stay up here as I got up a little late this morning and sitting in the quiet let's me wake up at my own pace. But the silence was quickly broken after the bell had gone as the other kids in my tutor came into the corridor. My tutor was up in the English corridor and when it got busy it was pretty crowded, so Mr Ashton (my tutor) was often pretty quick in getting up here to let us into the class so that's okay.

I watched the class head into the corridor and crowd close together, trying to get out of the other tutor's way at they came in. This is another reason why I like getting up to tutor early, I don't have to be suck between loads of people. As I pushed myself into the corner to get out of the way of some boys pushing through the line laughing, I saw Kate, talking to one of her friends, Ruby Cuva I think her name is.

Kate looked over at me out of the corner of her eye and smiled. I panicked and snapped to look at the wall, probably making myself look like a total mug in doing so. I kept staring at the wall until Sir finally came up to tutor to let us in, fumbling his keys as he tried to unlock the door. Sir was quite funny; He was tall and kind of thin with midnight black fur and navy blue eyes. He always seemed like he was in a rush but was also pretty funny even if he didn't mean to me.

"Alright, boys get to the back of the class, girls, take any seat." He ordered as he rushed inside, dropping his PC and planner onto his desk. I glanced around the class at who I could get sat with and none of the girls could be compared to Kate, she was amazing. "Oh, these seats are going to be permanent, so whoever you get sat with here, your sat with in all your lessons. If there's an issue with the seating plan, tough." Sir explained, logging onto his computer before pulling out his seating plan paper from his planner. "Here we go boys. Tom Evis, with Trina Bosie. Alfie..." Sir started, his voice trailing off as I got carried away with my thoughts. I couldn't help but look at Kate. Something about her was captivating.

"Jackson!" Sir yelled, pulling me from my thoughts. "Yeah... Sorry." I smiled, nervously chuckling as everyone looked around at me. "Your with Kate Wilson." He sighed smiling back, jabbing his pen back at Kate. I felt my stomach drop and my heart lift. Or maybe it was just my breakfast.

Kate's POV

This is defiantly going to suck. Knowing my luck I'll get stuck with Candoo Jennings or Ralph Morgan, and their total jerks, and I'd have to spend the rest of the year with them. At least I'll still have my friends to provide me with some sort of relief. "Humphrey Jackson." Sir started, catching my attention.

Now there's a guy I will gladly be sat with. I don't know him personally but Lilly says he's really sweet, kind, caring and misunderstood. He looks like the kind of person to go around with Garth and Candoo because of how good looking and muscular he is, not saying that Garth or the others are even close to good looking, but Humphrey is and Nikki and Lilly say that he's actually the opposite to Garth.

Lilly always says Humphrey is complaining at Nikki about how he feels underappreciated by girls, how they all like him for his looks and not his personality which I think is horrible. If he's really like what Nikki and Lilly say he's like, then he should never have been treated like he was, and if I get the chance, I'd like to be the exception.

"Jackson!" Sir repeated louder. I giggled a little as Humphrey jumped and shook himself. "Yeah... Sorry." He smiled, nervously chuckling as the class looked around to him. "Your with Kate Wilson." He sighed, jabbing his pen back over at me. I felt my heart skip. *Yes! You've finally got a chance here Kate!* I thought high fiving myself in my mind.

I didn't look back at him but closed my eyes tight until the chair next to me was pulled out and he sat beside me. He was big compared to me. I'm about five foot eight, so he had to be about five eleven, maybe even six foot tall, and he really was well built and so attractive. *Come on, tone yourself down Kate or he'll be put off before you even open your mouth.* I ordered myself.

I looked up to him and immediately got caught in his ocean blue eyes. They were incredible. "Tough crowd huh?" He whispered chuckling. I giggled and looked up to the rest of the class who looked less than happy with where they'd been seated. "Yeah, seems that way anyways." I replied trying not to embarrass myself in front of him. This could be my only chance to get a guy who's not up their own ass. *Please just try and be normal Kate* I ordered myself.
