Bitter Revenge
All was quiet and all was calm
The day before the sounds of bombs
The peaceful days and silent nights
Cut short by sudden frightful cries
Every animal and person too
Did look upon the sun and moon
They saw it burst through the raven clouds
As the very first shots came looming down
The enemy's approaching; the sounds of drums do beat
They're overcome by panic and quickly turn to flee
To no avail they run away
The trespassers start to slay
They leave no stone unturned
What cannot be carried must be burned
Later in the night they sit around a fire
Completely unassuming of a trouble most dire
From out of nowhere a stranger shows up
A young girl with a body covered in cuts
She slips through the shadows as quiet as can be
Tormented with rage at her fated tragedy
She climbs stealthily out of the water underneath the docks
Then moves from behind the trees, the bushes, and the rocks
She waited silently until it was time
Time for them to die
This young girl with flames in her eyes
Was the one they left alive
