Chapter 1 A World Other Than Cacoon
The beginning of the purge had started. All around explosions were always going off from small groups that fought the troops. I just needed to take control of the train, then I would be able to get near the fal'cea and save Serah. However some things happen that I haddn't planned for. I was already on my way to Cacoon when I boarded the train. I was loaded in with the others to be purged.
"So you're really going to do it?" a man with black hair and skin asked me.
"Be quiet!" I commanded him
He sighed and turned to me "Best of luck."
The guard was walking my way down the aisle. As he was searching prisoners, a barrier on the tracks caused the train to rupture. He stumbled, giving me a window of opportunity to take him out, along with the device that held the cuffs on all of us. Continuing on with his weapon in my hand.
"She did it!" on man exclaimed.
Running forward, more gaurds were on their way. I took a preemtive attack, using my anti-gravitational device to charige the other guards. I incapacitaded them and, had my gunblade back.
"They all want to fight." The same man was named Sazh.
I continued on and looked out of the train, where there were enemies upon us.
"Give me that,"I said as I took an RPG from the same guy and shot down one of their aircrafts, but their was still three on us. I took aim once more and pulled the trigger, but a support beam got in the way. The train shuddered again, and I realized that PSICOM sent a devastator after us. I attacked it along with Sazh. After a little while it changed tactics and started destroying the railway. I hopped on top of a train that was passing and slid to a roadway.
"Jump!" I told Sazh.
He did and I was well aware he might have hurt himself, but I had to keep moving. We found a group of soldiers and eliminated them, as we continued on further, explosions were everywhere turning Cacoon to ruin. Just then the L'cie mothership, or what looked like it, started doing something weird. It charged something up, then fired a beam. I knew what I had to do. Just then a sudden giant explosion went off shredding Cacoon apart, this was the end. Or was it? In the few seconds I had, I spotted what looked like a portal to somewhere. It was just within distance. I activated my AMP device and jumped in, and then everything went black.
Bridge of the Great Fox...
"Captain we have an unidentified personnel on the ship." Rob informed
"What? How?" Fox said getttign ready for anything.
"Running diagnostics now. It seems to be a fluctuation. source unknown ."
"Where are they Rob? Also try to figure out whatever you can."
"They are in the docking bay. The life form seems to be female, approximately 20 to 25 years of age, and human."
"Ok thanks, Falco you're with me." The fox ordered.
"Aye aye, Fox." The bird affirmed.
"And make sure your blaster is ready, just in case." Fox cautioned
"You got it!" Falco stated nonchalantly
At the same time in the Great Fox Docking Bay...
I woke up with a headach, disoriented, and sore with possibly a broken rib on my lower right side. I stood up to retrieve my gunblade, that was ten feet away from me. An elevator shaft was rumbaling, and I was waiting by the door out of sight. Everything was so different around here I have no idea as to who, or what might be coming down. The doors moving apart as two figures walked out. One was a bird looking figure who looking to be somewhat care-free, and the other a fox his stance was caution. Noting this, they are probably some sort of military.
"I'm not sure, but do you think it might have been a glitch?"
"Falco when has Rob been wrong?"
"True, but I don't see anybody."
"Let's look around a bit more before actually heading up."
They headed to the lower area of the docking bay, which gave me the chance to slip in the elevator and into the upper shaft through the ceiling. I waited until they headed back, because they'll most likely report to the captain, or at least lead me somewhere with answers.
After about ten minutes the elevator started moving up, and it took another two until they stopped. Quickly I opened the hatch, shut it quietly on my way down, and slipped through the doors. I noticed that I must have been on a ship. There was a bridge and I dashed under a panel as quick as I could, without being spotted.
"Slippy are you sure you didn't mess the sensors up when you were fixing them, cuz we didn't find anyone." The bird sounded irttitated.
"Falco relax, Rob we couldn't find anyone was it possibly a glitch?" Fox asked.
"Negative I still have reading of someone on the ship." Rob responded.
"Slippy try and see if anything is wrong, Falco your running guard duty take seven others and split up as you see fit." Fox directed everyone.
The elevator door opened up again and another canine looking figure walked in. Only this one was blue. Meanwhile, the bird who I assume was Falco, left.
"So, what did I miss?" The voice was feminine, no doubt about that.
"Krystal, we might have had an infiltration, and we are checking if it's a glitch or if someone may have got onto the Great Fox." Fox explained.
"How would they have done that? I haven't sensed anything." Krystal had worry in her voice.
"I'm not sure yet, Rob's still working on it." Fox sighed.
'I need to get out of here as soon as possible. I can't be sure of how many people are on this ship, but with me in the room, there might have been three and an android or robot. There are so far a total of 12 that I know of, that means I should try to be covert. I might have to use a shroud to get out of here.' Lightning thought to herself
"Fox, I checked and the sensors seem to be fine." Slippy confirmed.
"What would have actually happened then?" Fox asked to no one in particular "Well Slippy continue as you were then."
"You got it," and with that Slippy left.
'That makes two and the robot. Maybe I can take control of the situation'
"Fox I'm worried; I can't sense anyone. They must be strong telepathically, or have some unknown technology help cloaking their mind from me." Krystal said with distraught.
"Don't worry Krystal we'll find them. I sent Falco and seven others to patrol, and Rob is working on tracking whoever she is. I'm giving you the rest of the day off so don't worry about it. We should be nearing the Lylat system soon anyways."
Krystal seemed hesitant but complied "Ok, but if I sense anything I will let you know."
"Alright, thanks." Fox said to Krystal who left.
'That makes the captain, and the robot. Now might be my chance.' Lightning noted.
Lightning having her gunblade ready. The door opening once more, she lost one more opportunity.
"Just got off break Fox. What's our destination?" Peppy said enthusiastically.
"Well peppy I was going to head to Cornaria, but I'm not sure that's a good idea." Fox said with concern.
"Oh why so?" Peppy said curiously
"I didn't want to announce it just in case there is someone here. I wouldn't want to alert them and have a potential threat, but we may have an intruder. Rob was using sensors to try to find them, but it seems like he can't pinpoint exactly where she is, and Krystal couldn't sense anything either." Fox rubbed his forehead.
"Even with her telepathy?" Peppy said as he thought.
"Yeah, it bothers me. The intruder just appeared out of nowhere, but we can't be sure. It might just a possible glitch." Fox swiveled his seat to the monitor he was at.
"We went through that asteroid storm didn't we?" Peppy said to get Fox thinking.
"You think it's possible that someone could have gotten in when that happened?" Fox realized
"We did suffer some damage through that storm, so it wouldn't suprise me if something is messed up." Peppy stated.
"Ok then, and I need you to take inventory on supplies that we have, and get the arwing report from Slippy."
"Affirmative."
With that Peppy, who was a rabbit, left.
Lightning silently sighing while thinking 'I have seen some weird l'cie, but what are these people? Now for my second attempt.' Lightning had her gunblade in its gun form, and decided to take charge.
"Hold it both of you!" She demanded.
"What no way!?" Fox was devistated.
They both looked at Lightning not sure what to do.
"You there lock the elevator and don't communicate with anyone else other than to keep them busy, and if not I will dismantle you! and you Fox, I want to know where I am and how I ended up on your ship?!"
"Rob, do what she says, we have no idea what she is capable of." the Fox ordered
"Affirmative."
"Good now make sure no one comes up here or suspects anything."
Just then there was an incoming transmission.
"Krystal to Fox. Something seems wrong, I sensed something a little bit ago. What's wrong?"
"Nothing Krystal, everything is fine." Fox tried to convinve her.
"But your thought patterns aren't normal." Krystal argued.
"I'm just aggravated that I can't figure out what's happening, that's all, no need to worry." he assured.
"Alright, don't get too distracted that you forget to eat. You tend to do that, I'll bring something up."
"No need to worry I will get something soon." and he finished the transmisison.
"How many are on your ship?"
"We only need twenty to run it. I have my specialists which are made up of myself and five others, and we have maintanance."
Fox started to shift towards the panel to his left.
"Move any closer to that, and I will shoot you where you stand!" she promised
Fox grunted "Fine, but what else do you want?"
"I want to know how I got here." Lightning demanded
"I can't tell you that, because I don't even know. We have been running diagnostics since you got here."
"Where am I at then? Are we anywhere near Cacoon?"
"I have never heard of Cacoon. We are in the Lylat system just out of range of Cornaria. As to figure this out, maybe we should team up."
