Hello! This is my first uploaded drabble, though I might add on to it, depending on whether I feel like it...

It isn't great, but just take it. I had to upload something. Enjoy (optional)!

Thud!

The impact shook the ground, tipped a vase off the edge of Chell's dining table. She nearly jumped at the china clattering on the floor, which surprised her almost more than the object that had just smashed into the ground outside. Her first thought was that the boom was an earthquake, second a meteor, but it seemed too small to be either.

She hurriedly set down a glass she was cleaning to run outdoors and find the source of the crash. The sun shone brightly, though it was utterly freezing.

After walking/sprinting about a block through the small Michigan town, Chell noticed a large crowd of people, about 20 in total, gathered at the little park in the middle of the city.

Eager the discover what lay in front of the crowd, she pushed and nudged her way through the audience, elbows jabbing her in the side, mild obscenities being muttered by several people.

Chell finally got the front of the crowd and gasped.

Suddenly she didn't want to know what happened anymore.

"Wheatley?" She whispered so quietly that a pin-drop could be heard over her voice.

There in the center of a 10 square foot crater lay a half-crushed heap of smouldering metal, wires protruding from docking ports on the robot's sides, optic lids open by the very slightest bit to reveal the dim blue glow of his mechanical eye.

The first thing Chell noticed was that he slowly looked directly at her, among the crowd of curious by-passers.

5 years ago, almost to the day. A flash of memories whirred through her mind, and a sharp ghost feeling of panic struck her at the neck, shooting down her back.

He was back. it was all back.

After Aperture, Chell managed, through lingering emotions and paint, to walk 20 miles to the city of Stargleam, Michigan. It was cold. She didn't know anyone at the time, and now the only slight friend she had was her landlord. His name was George, a kind older mechanic who was generous enough to let her stay in the townhouse he was renting out if she agreed to help him around his tool shop.

Her life was all fine and dandy, Chell decided, one friend was good enough and there wasn't any chaos that took place around town, beside petty-theft. It was perfect for her, in fact. A hobby of hers was stargazing, which served as a mental kept her mind off the demons lurking in the darkest parts of her mind, the ones that doubted her first only friend, the ones that dragged her down and kept her from moving on.

But now…

He was back. And he brought all her demons with him.
