It was around three am. Six year old Gaz was asleep snuggly in her bed. Then, she woke up to the sound of glass, a scream, and some yelling. Her dog barking, and her big brother did's foot steps in the hallway. Little Gaz sat up, she rubber her eyes, and slipped on her bunny slippers. Her pruple nightgown had chocolate stains from ice cream the ngith before. Gaz creaked her door open, and peeked out. No one was in the hall. She checked every room. No one in mommy and daddy's room. No one in the bathroom. No one in the attic. No one in Dib's room. No one in her room. She quietly slipped down staires. No one in the living room. She looked out the window. A cop car was parked on the front lawn. Make that two. A gigantic black vehicle with the letters S, W, A and T, sent a whole bunch of boys that looked like her daddy inside the house. An ambulance pulled up, and two men ran in with a skinny bed. Little Gaz felt light headed. "THERES A LITTLE GIRL IN HERE!" One daddy yelled.
"A little girl!"
"YEAH, A LITTLE GIRL!"
"GET HER OUT OF HERE!" Just the, one of the daddys picked her up, and carried her out of her house. They came out later carrying Dib. Little Gaz's dad came out side. He had gray sweatpants on, and a tee shirt with the old Wal Mart smiley face. His arm had red stuff oozing out of it, and he couldn't walk right.
The men that had the skinny bed, came out, screaming things at one another. Little Dib grabbed her hand. "Dibby?" She asked. He looked down at her. "Where is mommy going?" She asked him.
"She's going to get better Gaz, you'll see!" He said. Gaz pulled herself away from Little Dib and she was close enough to see, her mommy was not going to be ok.
Three hours later, after their doggy had been sent to heaven, Little Gaz, Dib, and their dad, sat on the front lawn, when the police finally found the guy who had hurt Gaz's mommy.
There was much little Gaz didn't know or understand.
She didn't understand why a couple days later, she had to wear her black dress, and leave a rose in a whole. There was a black box, that was almost as big as her daddy. "Goodbye Mommy" Little Dib mumbeled. He dropped a watch he had gotten for his birthday. Little Gaz held the skull shaped locket around her neck. Her mommy would always be with her.
Always.
