A Poem for a Boy without a Heart

His shadow is not cast for he, himself is a shadow, a heartless. The darkness had once and for all swallowed his heart whole, leaving nothing but a mindless shell. He was supposedly the chosen one, the destined, the hero. He was the Wielder of the Keyblade, the boy who was going to lead the worlds from evil and to a place of unending calm. But no such place did exist. I must admit, he fought valiantly for years, trying his hardest to defeat what he was destined to become. He still held that Keyblade, dragging it in the sand behind him. What he did not know was that he could overcome this darkness, win back his soul, if only he could find someone to love. A living soul that had not been permanently tarnished by evil. A girl, a girl he had once known, and loved, and been loved by. Kairi. The simple thought of her beautiful face almost brought him back. He would have cried, had he had eyes. His heart would have ached for her, had he had one. But he shook his head sadly. He knew she would never return to him, after all he had done….

But wait! A faint shout shattered his unconsciousness. "Sora!" a soft voice, a loving voice from behind him. He turned. A girl with dark magenta hair was sprinting towards him, tears streaming down her face. It was her! The girl he had loved so long ago…..or was it long ago? It felt like forever, but could his state of nothingness have obstructed his senses? Her arms were outstretched as she reached him, and she flung herself at his dark figure, which was now beginning to….glow? No, glow wasn't the right word. His figure lit. Lit like a candle that was older than time. Lit like a fire as it touched a dry patch. He began to light up, and soon, you could see a person inside, a person who wanted to be loved. Kairi looked up at her beloved Sora, and touched her soft lips to his. An explosion of light! Sora's soul was visible at the edges of his body, and the tears started to pour down his face as he looked at his Kairi, and could finally show her how brightly his love shown.
