Too Late

I was on youtube killing brain cells when I stumbled across an AMV for Kurama/Hiei to the song Too little too late by Jojo. And it got me thinking, which is dangerous. I am not a fan of Kurama/Yuusuke but for my purposes they are together in this fic. I am whole heartily a Kurama/Hiei fan! I swear! Anyway on with the show!

"I love you! Hiei, please! Don't go back to Makai!" Kurama pleaded.

"Sorry, Fox. I don't have those kind of feelings for you. I am sorry if you thought otherwise." Hiei said as he opened a portal to Makai.

"But what about all those times we made love?!" Kurama shouted.

"You are confusing lust for love. You were just a good fuck." Hiei said calmly. "Goodbye, Fox." Hiei stepped through the portal and was gone.

"HIEI!!!!!!!!" Kurama fell to the floor crying.

Six Months later

'Hey Kurama, Botan and Shizuru want to double date tonight. What should I tell them?" Yuusuke asked as he walked into the kitchen.

"Sure, where do they want to go?" Kurama asked as he put the groceries away.

"Some steakhouse called Shogun." Yuusuke answered as he sat down.

"So what time do you want to meet, do you think?" Kurama asked as approached Yuusuke with a look in his eyes that Yuusuke knew very well.

"Much later, I am sure. I will call them later to find out." Yuusuke said as Kurama straddled his legs.

" Fox? Kurama? Are you home?" Hiei's voice came from the bedroom. Apparently someone had left the window unlocked.

"Shit! What's he doing here?!" Yuusuke whispered. He then looked at Kurama and saw the haunting look on his face. "Do you want me to get rid of him?"

Kurama snapped out of it right then. "No, don't be silly he's our friend we can both go to talk to him."

"Are you sure?" Yuusuke asked as he remembered how the fox had been after Hiei had left six months ago. Kurama had been devastated and he never wanted to see him like that again.

"I am sure Yuusuke! Don't worry so much!" Kurama said reassuringly. "Hiei, we are in the kitchen." Kurama yelled as he got up from Yuusuke's lap.

Hiei walked into the kitchen a little hesitantly because he was not expecting to see anyone else except Kurama.

"Hello, Hiei." Kurama said with a nod.

"Hi, Kurama, Yuusuke." Hiei answers. Why is Yuusuke here?

"Hiei" Greeted Yuusuke as he glared at Hiei.

"Fox, could we talk alone?" Hiei asked giving Kurama a pointed look.

"No, anything you want to say to me can be said in front of Yuu-chan" Kurama said knowing he might need the support.

"What? Are you two playing lovers now?" Hiei asked sarcastically.

"So what if we are lovers?" Yuusuke ground out. "You have no claim on him after what you did to him six months ago!"

Hiei looks taken back. He looks at Kurama and can see the hurt in his eyes. "Fox, I am so sorry. I didn't mean it. I love you, I can see that now. I convinced myself that no one could love me. So I pushed you away."

"Well, it's a little too late for that!" Kurama yelled back.

"Please, Kurama! I want what we had back again!" Hiei pleaded.

"What? A good fuck?" Kurama bitterly spat. "Just leave! Go back to the Makai!"

Yuusuke stood up and hugged Kurama as Hiei turned to leave. The hurt was plain on Hiei's face as he left. "I hope you two are happy together. Goodbye." Hiei ran from the room before either of them could see his tears. He had ruined his on chance at love.
