Hearts Burst Into Fire.
"Draco, I'm coming home. I've been gone for far too long. Please remember me. I know I fucked things up. I shouldn't have expected you to wait for me. I've spent too much time without you. I'm quitting my job as an auror. If you'll take me back I'll be there with you forever."BEEEEEEP!
Draco listened to the message on his machine listlessly. His life had been hell since he and Harry split up. Hearing his voice again opened sore wounds and tore Draco apart. He didn't know what to do. He had found a new lover but it was empty for Draco. Nothing was the same.
"Draco, who was that calling?" Blaise called from the bedroom. It took Draco a minute to answer.
"No one important. Just a telemarketer." It killed Draco to say those words.
Draco wanted Harry back but he had to sort his life out first. Harry was always sent to far off places with his job of top auror. One time when Harry was sent to Africa for six months Draco had cheated on him with Blaise. He couldn't handle the months alone. A huge fight ensued when Harry returned and found Blaise in the flat. Draco couldn't sleep or eat without Harry there. He still can't sleep at night. Draco couldn't help it as he sat down and started bawling into his hands. Silent sobs were wracking his body in the seat.
"Draco, I miss you. My bed's so cold and lonely. I miss being able to hold you in my arms. At night I wake up and still reach to hold you, but I only find sheets. My world stopped turning a long time ago. It took me until now to realize what made it freeze. Are we going to be apart forever?" BEEEP!
Draco hadn't even heard the phone ring that time.
Maybe Blaise sent it straight to machine. SHIT! Blaise!' Daco thought before rushing to pull himself together. He knew what he had to do now.
"Draco?" Blaise called from behind Draco.
"Blaise, I'm sorry but you have to go. I'm breaking up with you. Now get out." It was blunt but did the job. Blaise seemed to understand immediately.
"Harry... right Draco? It was Harry who called. I knew this would happen."
"Blaise, I'm sorry."
"It's okay Draco. I always knew this would happen eventually. But I had to try to make you feel something again. I'll be gone by morning. Go to him, Draco. Harry needs you." With that Blaise dissapparated out of Draco's life.
Draco quickly ran to the phone. His usually lithe and nimble fingers fumbled on the keypad. It took him five times to get the number right.
Riiing Riiing Riiing, "Draco?" Harry's vioce was elated with hope.
"Yes, Harry it's me. I assume you remember the way? Or do I have to go get you?"
"You're taking me back..."
"Of course Harry. Blaise is gone and my bed is free. Where are you right now? The ministry?"
"Yes, I was turning in my resignation."
"I'll be there. I love you." click. BANG!
Next thing Harry knew, Draco was right there kissing him like they had never been apart. When Harry saw Draco's face his heart burst into fire.
"I must be dreaming..." Harry muttered when they finally broke apart. Draco recaptured Harry's lips but not before he could say, "I love you, too."
Harry stayed by Draco's side forever as promised.
