Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha, in any way. Rumiko Takashi does.
There are nights when she sits there, beneath the stars, with her eyes closed and her mind blind to all that surrounds her. So many things had taken place in such a short time.
Images raced behind her closed eyes of a defeated Naraku, a priestess finally put to rest, the disappearance of her close friend, Inuyasha's sad solemn face visible.
One image stuck out amongst them though…Miroku's wind tunnel vanishing.
"Sango?" She turned in time to catch her husband sitting down beside her. "What are you doing out here so late?"
Sighing, Miroku watched as his wife rested her head on his shoulder, eyes still open. Her fingers found the lining of his robe and her fingers toyed with it, a habit she'd picked up when her thoughts were elsewhere.
"Thinking," She answered after a few moments passed between them in silence.
A soft wind tousled her black hair, tickling Miroku's nose. It twitched before eventually the monk sneezed. Sango, so dazed from her thoughts finally noticed his face scrunching up for another one when she started to laugh.
"What," He sniffled, "is so funny, if I might ask?"
Shaking her head, she gave him one of the handkerchiefs left by her friend from the future and handed it to him. He inclined his head in gratitude as he quickly wiped his nose.
They were once again engulfed in silence until another gust, this time stronger then the before, tousled her hair, whipping it around until they were both being swatted by it. Sango, pulling it back into a bun to try and keep a reign on it, looked around. "Is it a storm?"
Her husband looked around them. "Inuyasha hadn't mentioned one coming…" The winds continued to build until finally they retracted from their place on the hill to their small hut.
When they were safely inside Miroku sighed then turned to find Sango's cheeks rosy from the cold nipping wind outside. Even though it was somewhat warm outside, the wind definitely was chilly. "You have a bit of windburn on your cheeks." He kissed each one, noticing they only grew redder. "Sorry." He mumbled smiling as his wife gave a laugh. "You're just quite irresistible."
"You always say that." She mumbled, her lips touching his. They stripped their clothing from one another, enjoying each other's bodies until making love the entire night.
The next morning, Sango spoke to Kaede of the strange weather only to find the older priestess knowingly smiling at her. "Some say the weather, when strange, is simply trying to tell us something has happened."
Frowning, she left with the woman's words only to run into her husband, his face in wonder.
"What's the matter, Miroku?"
Eyes still holding their wonder, he gave a choked laugh and a huge smile broke out over his face. "Inuyasha just told me the strangest thing."
"Oh?"
"I went to ask about the weather…only to find out." His hands touched her belly.
Her eyes went wide, shocked. "No."
