Randy has anger issues. It's not a new thing. Everyone knows that when randy orton snaps, it's the equivalent of a rampaging rhinoceros. So when the stampeding starts, it's best to steer clear of his way. Everyone knows this- it's practically a SOP- everyone except Christian. Oh but he knows about randy's issues, the multitude of voices that plague the man, the standard procedures- but he doesn't care. Nope not a bit. In fact, he waves his championship belt like a red flag. Flaunts it left and right whenever he can, wearing a big crooked grin. It's like teasing a giant ferocious tiger with nothing but a slab of meat strapped to your abdomen. And the effects are instantaneous, randy bites the bait, every single time. while everyone runs away from randy orton during his dark moods, it's Christian who stands in his way, always with that red flag- always waving it with a crooked smirk- daring, tempting- and randy goes after it every single time. It's like watching a real-live Tom and jerry skit- except randy never catches Christian.

Then something's changed. They don't know when it started but they're pretty sure it's palpable. Randy is still crazy, they doubt he's ever going to get better. Everyone still bails when he snaps (everyone with a sense of self preservation anyway), when his eyes start sweeping over everyone, and that manic grin appears on his face- what's changed is that his eyes, more often than not, and everyone will swear to this, his gaze lingers on Christian. It's not the gaze of someone who wants to snap his obstinate head off that scrawny body- but rather, strange as it seems, it always appears tender, almost longing. Those eyes can find him even in the thickest of crowds, never meaning to seek but always always lands on his form. christian doesn't know that of course. Still thinks that the belt is what the Viper is after. Their game remains the same, but randy's goal has changed. And everyone knows that. Except Christian. And everyone doesn't know what to make of it- what happens when the day the viper succeeds in wrapping his coils around captain charisma. So for now, they watch as they continue their game. And hope, maybe, when that time comes, they'll both stop dancing around each other.
