Title: Irony
Summary: "They think you're dying, and suddenly everything's different." Post-ep? for 3x15 "Half-Wit". House's POV.
Rating: PG
Pairings/Characters: hint of House/Cuddy, hint of House/Cameron
Length: 200 words
Genres: general
A/N: Post-ep for 3x15. Just something that popped into my head while I was watching the ep/after the ep when I was sleepless. And also my first ever House fic! Yay! (but what a way to come into the fandom. With a tiny little 200-word post-ep fic!)

Irony

It's funny. Not haha funny, but ironic funny.

You tell people that you're in perpetual pain, and they feel sorry for you for a beat. Then they get all mad and pissed at you for being pissed off at your pain. And eventually they even start to hate you.

Then they think you're dying, and suddenly everything's different. They love you, and want to talk your ears off. And they let you get away with everything, because they feel sorry for you. And they do things to you that they've always wanted to do (but have mostly refrained from.)

Wilson has an excuse to talk your ears off with "meaningful conversation." Again.

Foreman tells you off.

Chase hugs you. (And you have to stand there and endure it.)

Cameron kisses you. (And you get to pretend to kiss her back.)

Cuddy lets you grab her ass. (And you get to enjoy it. Even if she won't let you go any farther.)

But then they all find out that you're not dying, and they automatically go back to being pissed at you. And they get really mad and they really hate you. Even though they got to do what they wanted to do all along.
