As usual, the whole gang was there. Sakura, Syaoran, Tomoyo, Eriol, Meiling, and Kero. They were helping decorate for Tomoyo's Halloween party. It was at an old mansion that was said to be cursed by a warlock. No one had lived there for over 200 years. "This is going to be a blast! I'm going to a witch. How 'bout you Sakura?" exclaimed Meiling "Tomoyo is making my costume. I'm going as Little Red Riding Hood." said Sakura "What are you going to be Syaoran? A bunny?" teased Meiling "Of course not you fool. As a matter of fact, I'm going as the Big Bad Wolf." hissed Syaoran
While they were talking, Eriol had stepped out on to the verandah. He had felt a faint evil power when they first arrived. He might not have noticed it if it weren't for today. Today was Halloween and it was the time when sorcerers and sorceresses' powers increased tremendously for tonight and tonight only. Suddenly, a gust of wind blew by and he heard "Card Mistress..." and an evil laugh. As soon as it had come, it was gone. = I should tell Syaoran about this = Eli thought as he walked back to join the others.
"Umm...Syaoran...Could I talk to you in private for a moment?" Eriol asked Everyone looked at him. "Sure." Syaoran replied. They all went back to work. Syaoran and Eriol stepped out onto the verandah. "So, what did you want to talk to me about?" asked Syaoran Eriol explained everything that had happened.
"You must protect Sakura tonight." Eriol said "Of course! I will protect Sakura for as long as I live!" exclaimed Syaoran Eriol smiled to himself and left him out on the verandah. = Who or what would be after Sakura and why... = thought Syaoran Suddenly, a gust of wind blew by and Syaoran heard a voice. "I will get your little cherry blossom...And there's nothing that you can do about it" said the voice "Who are you?!" Syaoran said angrily Nothing. The gust of wind was gone. Syaoran took out his lasin board. "Force, know my plight. Release the light! Find the evil presence that was just here!" It pointed to a cemetery right across the road. The light led him to a big oak tree on the top of the hill. There he saw a person in a priest's outfit with the hood covering the face. Syaoran could see it's aura. It was as black as night.
"Who are you and what do you want with Sakura?!" yelled Syaoran "A force to be reckoned with. My name is Damien. All I want with the Card Mistress is her powers and maybe her life." said the hooded man "That's what you think!" exclaimed Syaoran as he took out his rashin ban. With that, Damien chanted an incantation and an enormous black ball of energy shot out towards Syaoran. It hit Syaoran and knocked him against the tree. "That was just a taste of what I can do." Damien chuckled and disappeared. "I will NEVER let you get near my Sakura." Syaoran said as he stood up and brushed himself off.
