6 hours before D-Day
Location: Somewhere above Normandy

I looked out the window of the plane...and I saw hundreds of planes, flying in the same direction.
"Hey!" the guy next to me yelled out with somewhat sad if not nervous tone, "Are we there yet?". I shake my head like everybody else. "No flaks...so no, we ain't there yet" said Sgt. Johnson. Last time I checked Sgt. Moody never chew gum...must be the stress, we are getting lately. From what I heard...everything in this "Operation: Overlord" depends on us, the 101st Airborne. We were told that we are one of the best soldiers in this war...well...that's the rumor anyway, but damn... I hope they were telling the truth. 2 years of intense training and that goddamn Carahee stuff. Thinking of it...I never actually get the chance of becoming an officer...only those eggheads gets the job, but this isn't too bad at all...Sgt. Nix Riggston...not a bad rank at all.

It's start getting more tense each minute...some of us can't wait to fight the jerry, but me? I just want to do my part and go home...get a girl or something. I took out my weapon, it's a Thompson Submachine gun, but I called her...
"Cherries" because I painted it red, and it look absolutely crap...again..must be because of my poor painting skills...heh heh.
"This is your captain speaking! We are getting close to our destination, the weather for today is Flaks!" he said it so sarcastically, it's not even funny anymore. Onces more I looked outside...this time there were flaks...alot of them actually. But we aren't hit...not yet anyway. Suddenly red light goes on, we stand up and look towards the back of the plane where Capt. Foley is...he use hand sign to communicate with us, because the surroundings sound right now is "Bang Bang Bang" can't really anything. He signal the rest of us to start checking the person in front's equipments. I did and only hope that the one at my back did his best to check mine.

It wasn't long before the green light goes up, everyone start to walk and jump off as we were trained. Capt. Foley give a brief smile and say to us " Keep your head down and remember the friendlies code! Good luck, see you on the ground!" after he finished, everything goes in slow-motions. One by one we jumped off the plane as we were instructed, onces it's my turn...I jumped and wished that the rumor were true.
