Amara stepped through the gateway getting her first glimpse of the battle nexus. Her father had been champion when she was a little girl but she had never dreamed she would finally be strong enough to get through and hopefully find the help she needed.
Raph knew he was screwed, five too many beers with Casey had him stumbling his way through the tunnel his own personal walk of shame. Leaning against the wall for support, the liquid rising in his throat. Oh what he wouldn't give right now for his own place like normal guys his age had, no more staying in the cramped sewers with his brothers and father. "Not happening" he slurred to himself sliding down to kneel his mind racing, his rage silent, his sadness radiating. He had done it again let his loneliness fester and swell, his need for someone who was his who wanted him. "Fuck this shit, who would want me," he howled before throwing up into the the bottom of the tunnel. Stomach free of its alcohol laden contents Raph felt better phsically, and started making his way home.
Kay sat on the roof keeping watch as best she could in the dark, her thoughts running around trying to solve the problem that was there lives. Amara had been gone all day and with no clue on when she would return it was up to Kay to figure out what to do if Amara failed.
They had been running for a year now, currently bedded down in an old shack they had found in the woods a few miles outside Texarkana. 'Almost sounds like a country song' she thought with a bit of a smile breaking through the serious set of her face. Her, Amara, Sam, and Cat running from Sam's uncle who thought Sam was his own personal punching bag, until Amara and her parents moved into town. Cat, Kay, and Sam had been friends forever having gone to the same school and lived in the same town their whole lives but poor Amara got thrown into their messed up lives a week into summer vacation three years ago when they had been 16. Sam had been running from her uncle again and had jumped a fence into the wrong yard. "Wrong yard for him anyway" Kay joked to herself not caring if anyone heard her talk to herself because that memory really did cause a smile. Sam had jumped the fence into the backyard of Amara Wolf the only child of Alc Wolf a ninjitsu master who had been training her for years in the art of ninjutsu. Needless to say Uncle Dave didn't make it out without a scratch, and Sam was no longer her uncle's sole target, something snapped in him that day, Alc took us under his wing, training us and putting off Amara's training for two years until the brakes failed on his car. A week after his funeral Dave attacked again and almost put Amara in the hospital. He had been training too.
And so we ran but he keeps finding us.
Master Splinter appraised his sons kneeling before him with pride they had grown into great young men. No longer teenagers he would not have to worry about leaving. "My sons I have been summoned by the dynamo and must be gone for w while I do not know how long. You will carry on your duties without me till I return."
"Yes Master." The four brothers said in unison bowing as there master prepared to leave. " I do not know why I am being summoned but I feel change coming be ready." He says as he leaves the lair.
The four brothers rise to return to their own interests.
