Ashes to ashes
Ashes to ashes,
Dust to dust to dust
And ever, life to life laid down.
Ashen rain, oh sweet ashen rain
And flicker of flame, only life that remains.
A torrent of ashes cloak her
Burned black as her soul
White as her bull.
Light and Darkness they divide
What is wrong made right, so right.
Or so she'll say
But she has forever been a liar.
The pain within her smoulders like the ashes of her enemy
Hurting as the cutting tendrils.
Her memories that suffocate her like the smoke.
Torment is as tangible as the despair for fallen heroes
Broken circle.
She's come full circle,
Victim to aggressor.
But, oh as the memories tear into her, as her penance
Looking in broken mirrors
To see a broken state.
She feels no glory, no victory
Only the cruel agony
She would kill him a million times,
Destined never to inflict such pain as he did.
Slow torment is too merciful to serve as his comeuppance
He broke her, mind, body and soul,
For his selfish desires
Truly, she tells herself, Nyx should see her crimes as his
After all, he ruined her.
The agony is still unbearable.
She has won, there is no further distraction from her morbid thoughts
No new enemy to face
Save her own demons.
She would die.
She has considered it,
Except that Nyx would never take her
Nyx could never pardon her warped, broken, blackened soul.
Death would end her, but as she feels this pain, end seems
Good
Easy
Worth losing it all for
My heartless one, the bull begins
Neferet never liked coercing,
And she feels every time he laid hands on her,
Every damning time
Like fire under her skin
Well, she wants it out, now.
She dives into the pyre, the burn of every lash of the flames,
Soothing,
Liberating her from her morbid thoughts.
She cries out in pleasure as she is released from her body.
As her pain ends, understanding that only she could kill herself.
The bull screams at her, to stop
No, she thinks determinedly
The flames end her pain.
Nyx only watches, knowing that she'll reincarnate her.
Everyone deserves another chance
Even the murderess who laid down her life with those of her enemies,
Ashes to ashes,
Dust to dust,
And a life given for lives taken.
