DISCLAIMER:I don't own Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn. I am only responsible for the plot of this story.
Author's note: I've been having these thoughts run through my mind for the last ten odd minutes so, here's another Hibari x Haru fic (they're becoming a favourite pairing of mine). Enjoy!
"It's still too dark. I can barely see. Hibari, please slow down," she began again.
It had been horrible being forcefully paired up with her. He didn't particularly like being around Haru and she had been going on constantly about how fast he was going. He kept quiet and kept moving.
Haru stared at his cold unrelenting back and sighed trying to stifle a sob. Tsuna and the others had been separated from them and there was no way that they knew to get back. However, Hibari at least had some knowledge of the labyrinth and she had to follow him or get lost with no hope of being found.
Still, it was very cold and dark and she kept stumbling over debris. The little light his ring provided wasn't enough for her to see by and her feet were sore from so much walking.
"H... Hibari? Can we please rest?" she asked in a small voice, not sure he heard her. He stopped and turned to face her. The look on his face said it all. She sank to the ground and one sob escaped, then another. She wiped her tears away angrily.
"We have to keep moving," he said and walked back towards her. Without another word, he put one arm under her knees and another on her back and picked her up. It felt good being this near to a human being, and a female at that, though Hibari didn't dare look down at her, afraid he would see to much.
Afraid? Him? These feelings were a little unsettling. However, he had decided to bring her back safely and he would do just that.
"Thank you," she said and absent mindedly clutched his shirt. This time he did stop and set her on her feet. Haru, confused looked up at him and before she realised it, he had kissed her. It was very brief, but the sensation it left on her lips...
"Be quiet," he said and lifted her off the ground again. That would at least shut her up for now. Though he did have to admit to himself that her rather liked how her lips felt. No, he wouldn't look down at her or let her words affect him. He wasn't sure why they did when they were no different than the ones he'd heard all his life. Either way, he wasn't going to explore that. As soon as they were out of there, he would leave her be.
Haru smiled silently to herself. Normally, she would be upset that she had been kissed unawares and run off screaming how much of a perv he was, but first of all, she had nowhere to run and secondly, she had no way to run, not with her sore feet. The third reason she kept in her heart. She actually liked it. Of course he wouldn't like her to ever speak of it again, and she wouldn't. It would be their little secret.
