Chapter One

School. Yet another dreary day at school. If it wasn't for my boyfriend, Brodie, I wouldn't care for school at all. At least I'm coming up to see him now.

"Jerome! Hey! I just finished packing up all of my stuff. Sorry I took so long… you know how it is."

"Yeah, yeah. Why don't you put your stuff in your locker? It's easier that way. You don't need your Spanish during math class, you know?" I respond, annoyed.

"Yeah, whatever. Anyways, what are we going to do after school? I know we just had a date, but it'd be great if we had another." He mumbled, as we were still in homeroom, and no one knew we were dating yet. It would be awkward if anyone knew we were gay, let alone dating.

"Uh, I guess we could go out today as well," I answer. "You want to go to McDonalds?"

"Sure. Just get me a kid's meal… I really want that toy. They have Yu-Gi-Oh featured this week!" Brodie looked just like a child. If it wasn't for his deep, masculine, and hypnotizing voice, you wouldn't realize it.

About an hour later, after school ended, we walked to McDonalds, hand in hand. After arriving, we went up to the counter and ordered our meals: a kid's meal and a quarter pounder. We walked to our tables and waited, bringing up some small talk while we were at it.

"So, Brodie, how's your schoolwork?" I ask. I ask this quite often. You never know with Brodie. He's really inconsistent with his work sometimes.

"Erm…" He responds. He seems troubled. "Not so well. I've been too caught up in WWII stuff… Yeah, remember the social that the student council is planning? I voted for a WWII theme. Personally, I think it fits the idea of a social. Strife, war, and death. Pretty nice, huh?"

I'm a bit confused, but I let it slide. "Sure, sure. Just make sure your schoolwork is going well. I want to go to the same school next year."

We continue talking for a while, and eventually, we get our food. It tastes amazing, and Brodie got what he wanted - a trap card. Suddenly, we hear the door open. A fat, stubby kid and his mother walk in.

"Holy shit," I whisper. "It's that retard from school. And it sucks that he knows who we are."

Brodie responds, annoyed. "Yeah. It's Andruw... Andruw Kautrin."

Andruw waddles along the tiled floor. It takes him almost one minute for him to get to the counter, even though his mom helped him get there. He takes a long time to order, but once he finished, he continues to waddle around.

Wait, I think. Wait. No. He's not coming towards us, is he? No one's gonna come between me and my husband-to-be!

"HEI GOIS!" His voice rang.

"Uh, hi," Brodie and I respond, awkwardly."

"Now, now, be polite, Andruw. These are your friends from school, correct?"

"YES MUM. THEI ARE BRODEE AND JEEROM! BUT I LIEK BRODEE A LOT. HE IS HOT!"

Fuck.
