Hello guys this is a one shot fic of Robert comforting Aaron after Aaron discovered the truth.
Robert was lying on the sofa. Looking at his mobile phone and wondering about Aaron being on his own in Malta suffering with chicken pox. He missed him terribly; so much so that he slept on the sofa not wanting to sleep in an empty bed. He kept his eyes on his mobile, he wanted to dial and call but he didn't want to upset Aaron or worry him for that matter.
It must have been awful to find out that your mother was carrying a child that would almost certainly die after birth. The pain that Chas and Paddy were going through was unreal.
He sat up and rubbed his eyes, Seb was with Liv so he had the house to himself. He went and grabbed a beer from the fridge, he checked his phone and saw a text from Aaron:
Phone me Rob I need you xxx
Robert couldn't take it any longer and dialed Aarons number waiting for the phone to ring before Aaron came through,
"Hello Robert"
Aarons voice was music to Roberts ears, he didn't speak for a moment.
"Robert? Are you there?"
Aaron was slightly concerned and this made Robert feel guilty so quickly spoke;
"Yeah Aaron I'm fine. How are you feeling now?"
"Bloody itchy! I'm still contagious and this heat isn't helping."
"Hang in there Aaron. How are you really? I don't mean the chickenpox"
"What do you think? My unborn sister isnt going to have a chance to live!
"Oh Aaron."
Robert could tell that Aarons mind was beginning to wonder and yet he felt powerless to comfort him
"I feel terrible being here. I wish I didn't come to Malta!"
"Oh Aaron don't be silly! Its not your fault!"
Robert hasn't meant to sound abrupt and when he heard Aaron sniff, he felt bad.
"Look Aaron I know your there and I'm here but I'm only a phone call away and I know me and you will be reunited. I know Chas should have been honest with you but shes struggling to come to terms with it herself."
"But I feel really bad Robert Mum is pregnant and as much as I want to be there I know that i will put her at risk. She and Paddy are getting married and Im stuck here on my own without my family and i need to be there Robert! Mum is almost certain her baby is gonna die and this is my sister. My unborn sister! Why is it were always getting grief! I'm sick of it Robert!"
The tears of frustration were not lost on Robert and he felt powerless to comfort him,
"I'm always here for you my love" he whispered as he heard Aaron sob on the other end. They continued talking for a good half and hour before Aaron felt alot better.
"Right I better go before I run out of credit. Thanks for calling me Rob and give mum paddy and Liv my love and tell them I'll see them soon."
"I will do Aaron. Now take care my little grease monkey and remember your still a very handsome guy and i will look after Chas." Robert added softy, they blew each other a kiss and terminated the call.
Robert finished his beer sighing heavily hoping that there would be some form of comfort in the long run.
