"How do I look, Xander?"

We were standing outside the Summer's house, the place where the millions of stories that spilled from his mouth always happened (and of course Sunnydale high came up now and then), hand in hand ready to meet the family.

(pie's in hand, ready to do some wooing)

"Beautiful as always and you'll always be beautiful to me, El. But babe, lay off the sparklers, because my wacky family tends to carry weapons, lots and lots of them."

He was one big pool of nerves, something you have to get used to with him (but these days he no longer does so much running), and even I was sweating.

"I'll try; honey, but sometimes I can't control it, especially in spring time, don't even ask. Anyway I hope they like pie!"

In my life, aimed with pie and a smile, I have yet to find someone that does not like my apple pie.

(I was brought into the Winchester family the moment I said I could make a great pie)

"Who doesn't?"

"Hey guys, thanks for inviting us for thanksgiving, even though I would have come anyway, and this is my girlfriend Elle Bishop."

The pie had been whisked away the moment they catch sight of it, and I believe Andrew was sneaking a piece right about now, and I was standing before a whole mess of people.

(and I thought my family was large, at least mine is a whole lot more evil)

"Don't be so nervous, Xander, if you love her, we all love her."

When Buffy put out her hand to me my nerves started to melt away, they had started the second I head 'meeting the family of heroes', and I took it smiling ear to ear.

(it was the final choice between good and evil and the choice to finally stay faithful to one single man)

"And that I do."
