Hey everyone! This is my first FanFic, so I would really appreciate reviews and comments on what I can do better. (Don't we all?)
So, read on please!
Disclaimer: I do not own Sonny With a Chance. Sigh..:/
CPOV (Chad)
I was getting snacks after my amazing rehersal, when Sonny that famous Brothers guy, (Ray, Shay, Bay?) walk around the corner.
"And this is where we get snacks," she says. I walk over to them, in an attempt to talk to this guy. If he's famous, shouldn't I be able to say I, the most famous actor around, had met him?
Sonny notices me and with a look of annoyance states, "And this is-"
I cut her off. "No, no, no, he knows who I am." Of course he does! Who doesn't?
He looks confused as he looks me over. "No, I uh, I don't," he says in a British accent.
I laugh. Right! "Yes, you do. C'mon, your famous, I'm famous…"
He still looks confused as he says, "Really? That's weird. I don't recall seeing you at the last famous meeting."
Sonny, watching us talk, lets out a little laugh at that while he looks back over the food.
"Wait, there are famous meetings?" Why wasn't told of this before?
"No, don't think of it as a meeting, y'know, more like a party, that you're not invited to."
Oh, is THAT what it is? Before I can say something back, Sonny laughs again (that stupid, cute little laugh), "Okay, as much as I'm enjoying this," she motions between us, "Trey Brothers, Chad Dylan Cooper."
Sir "Famous", I mean, TREY, speaks first. "Oooo pretty names, I like it, it's very uh, very original!" He points at me as he walks by.
I look briefly at Sonny before I walk to his side. "You know what's original? A big star like you, appearing on a little show like So Random!" There's a first.
While I speak, he sniffs a chip and licks it, before making a disgusted expression and sets the chip down. Um, OKAY?
"I see what's going on here," Sonny says to me. "You think that Trey Brothers being on So Random! will make our show more popular than Mackenzie Falls."
What, is that what she thinks? I laugh. PLEASE! No star could EVER make a little show like So Random! more popular than Mackenzie Falls! I mean, c'mon, I AM the star.
"You're scared," she says. That stops my laughter, watching the smirk on her face.
"Chad Dylan Cooper fears nothing," I tell her.
"Spiders," she states.
"Not little ones."
"Heights!" she says, moving closer.
"Not low ones! And I'll have you know, we got a little something cooking up our sweater vests at the Falls as well." She looks un-phased, so I clear my throat and pull my tie. "Bangs." I gave her a "Take-That" look.
"Bangs? You already have bangs," she says.
"Aha! These are one better than bangs." I take off the hat I'm wearing, to show her. "I call them, WOO! 'Ba-bangs!'" I announce, while trying to blow the bangs off of my face.
They both just stare at me, until Trey speaks up. "Well, I think it's going to take more than that little forehead beard if you want to make it into the next famous meeting, mate."
Huh. If that doesn't make it, I don't know what will. I try and blow it off like it's nothing, though.
"I mean, y'know, there's other stuff, too, I mean, please, it's not JUST the 'Ba-bangs'," I respond.
Sonny, standing there just laughing at the conversation speaks again.
"An-and with that, it's time to bid your 'Ba-bangs', buh-bye." She giggles and blows my bangs before walking past me and back the way she came, with Trey looking at me again before following suit.
I still had the smell of her breath in my face as I slowly came back to the present. Did they just LAUGH at Chad Dylan Cooper's idea? Well, Sonny did. How could she? This was going to make Mackenzie Falls WAY more popular than it already is, not that it needs to be. We'll always be number one; it's just nice to have a big lead. So, why she was laughing? I would have no clue.
After finishing my snack-run, I walked back over to Stage 2, to tell everyone about my 'Ba-bangs', but they weren't around. So, I took the new Mackenzie Falls poster and headed toward the Commissary, hoping to find the Randoms to brag about it, even though Sonny already probably warned them about it.
When I walked in, Grady and Nico were the only ones sitting there. In magician costumes? I will never understand their comedy styles. Sonny's, however, is a different story.
"Oh, what's up, suckas?" I said. They both just looked at me, so I continued.
"Hope you Randoms are enjoying your 'Trey Brothers', because once people see this," I motioned to the cardboard poster facing me, "It's all they're going to talk about."
They still didn't speak, so I turned the poster around and held it up. "BAM!" For as cool as these bangs were, I kept having to blow them out of my face.
"Bangs and Fangs," Grady said, looking at the heading on the poster.
"Oh, that's right. We get bitten by vampires and get super-cool hair," I retorted, motioning to the poster of me again. I looked so good. I winked and blew myself a kiss.
"Was your show written by monkeys?" the other Random asked. Oh, yeah sure make fun now. It won't be long before your show has no viewers at all because of how awesome our show is.
Just then, Tawni came running in with an angry looking Sonny chasing her.
"Will you relax?" she said, out of breath. "So, you found out your hero is some big, song-stealing jerk."
"Yeah," Sonny responded, "Well, I also found out my roommate is some big, song-stealing jerk!"
I watched the two of them fight, until Nico motioned to the TV that was on, and had Trey on the set of So Random! playing a big red piano.
"Look! Look look look! Look, Trey's rehearsing on our stage!" That caught Tawni and Sonny's attention, and they came over to watch him on the screen, wearing Nico and Grady's costumes?
"He's wearing my hat!" Nico said.
"My sparkly, magic jacket!" Grady said with a disgusted look on his face. Huh, this was funny. He stole something from them to make them mad. And I thought I didn't like him.
As I was laughing, Sonny spoke up, extremely annoyed. "He's stolen something from all of us!"
Too funny. "Ha, see that's the difference between your show and mine," I said to her. "Something like this happens to me, hm, not a big deal. I just let it roll and-" But I had spoke too soon. When I looked back up at the screen, Trey was taking off his hat to reveal none other than my soon-to-be famous 'Ba-bangs.'
"No! N-n-n-NO! Those are MY 'Ba-bangs!'" I yelled.
"Marshall," said the bang-stealing guy on the screen, "Where's me tea, eh?" Only to reveal the fangs under his lip. UGH!
"Not my 'Fa-fangs! I just came up with the 'Fa-fangs!'" I whined, throwing down my hands.
Before I could complain further, Sonny put her hands out. "Okay, y-y'know what? Enough. I don't care how popular Trey is. Once Marshall realizes he's stolen something from all of us, there's no way that he'll stand for it." And with that she turned on her and walked out, with a determined cast on her heels.
I can't believe this! That JERK! No one steals from Chad Dylan Cooper. I mean, yeah, sure, it was funny that he stole from the Chuckle City cast, but from ME? No way.
I huffed back to my dressing room, poster in hand, and flopped down on my leather sofa. I grabbed the remote, trying to find something that would make me less irritated. Once I hit the button, the theme music for So Random! played and the curtains pulled back to reveal a bed covered in tissues and other items. Ah, the "Sicky Vicky' sketch. My favorite. Not that I watch this show all the time or anything, psh-NO! I only started watching because of Sonny.. and yeah, I've watched it every time since. There's just something about watching her on stage, acting, that's really appealing to me. Well, that sounds stupid. Of COURSE it's appealing. It's Sonny, even if she wasn't a great actress, it'd still be appealing to watch her.
But that doesn't mean I like her or anything along those lines. Sure she's bubbly, beautiful, funny and sweet, but CDC doesn't fall in love with girls. Girls fall in love with CDC. It's just her stupid-cute that I can't seem to get out of my head. Ugh, and that gorgeous brown hair, with those lovely, chocolate-brown eyes. OH! Don't even get me started about her smile! When her soft, kissable lips open to a gleaming white smile, I swear my heart flutters.
Okay, so as much as I don't want to admit it, maybe I am kind of in love with Sonny. But, as you well know by now, I do anything about it. My only regret is that she doesn't like me as I like her. Oh, how I wish I could call her mine. To hold her in my arms without worry that she could be with some other guy. Ah, a fantasy I love, a fantasy that'll never happen.
As I sit there thinking about my Sonshine, I don't notice how late it's become. Remembering my earlier annoyance, and deciding there's only one way to get rid of that, I get up and walk over to the Prop House. Huh, empty. That's odd. I try Tawni and Sonny's dressing room, but no one's there either. Oh, right, it's the filming night for So Random! So, with the possibility of Trey not yet performing with my bangs and fangs, I run down the hall to their set. When I get to the area back stage, the access to the stage is blocked. Ugh. Well, this is not my night.
As I stand there thinking of other ways to get in, I hear the So Random! announcer speak. "Ladies and Gentlemen, performing her original song, Me, Myself, and Time, Sonny Munroe!"
Wait, WHAT? Sonny, singing? She doesn't sing, does she? She never mentioned to me before. The first notes of the piano began playing, which were the same as what Sir Steals-A-Lot had been playing earlier, and decided I HAD to witness this. In a hurry, I ran to the steps that led up to a walkway above the stage. I climbed up just in time, as I saw Sonny move closer to the microphone.
I can make the rain stop if I wanna,
Just by my attitude
My mouth dropped open. Her voice was fantastic. I cannot believe I didn't know she sang. With a voice like this, she better get used to singing more often.
I can take my laptop record a snapshot
And change your point of view
I just entered this brand new world
And I'm so openhearted
I know I've got a long way to go but I
I'm just getting started
Instead of continuing to play the piano, she got up and moved to the front of the stage. Once she began the chorus she was dancing around and flipping her hair, totally into the music.
I'm over my head, and I know it, I know it
I'm doing my best not to show it, to show it
Whatever it takes to be what I was meant to be, I'm gonna try
Cause I'm living the dream and I know it, I know it
I'm trying my best not to blow it, to blow it
And I know everything will be fine
With me, myself and time.
I go where life takes me, but some days it makes me want to change my direction
Sometimes it gets lonely, but I know that it's only a matter of my perception
I just entered this brand new world
And I'm so openhearted
I know I've got a long way to go but I
I'm just getting started
I'm over my head, and I know it, I know it
I'm doing my best not to show it, to show it
Whatever it takes to be what I was meant to be, I'm gonna try
Cause I'm living the dream and I know it, I know it
I'm trying my best not to blow it, to blow it
And I know everything will be fine
With me, myself and time.
And baby there's nothing like this moment
To just be real and let the truth be spoken
Whatever's broke I can make it unbroken
Turn the lead in my hand into something golden
Just try more love, if I just try, more love then I'll find
Myself and time.
I'm over my head, and I know it, I know it
I'm doing my best not to show it, to show it
Whatever it takes to be what I was meant to be, I'm gonna try
I'm over my head, and I know it, I know it
I'm doing my best not to show it, to show it
Whatever it takes to be what I was meant to be, I'm gonna try
Cause I'm living the dream and I know it, I know it
I'm trying my best not to blow it, to blow it
And I know everything will be fine
With me, myself and time.
I'll find myself in time,
I know I'll find myself in time
She finished with a roaring applause from the audience, and me. I couldn't believe what a talented performer she was. Singing like that, and the way she made her body moved the beat of the song was just amazing. I don't think I had ever seen anything more beautiful. With a wave to the audience, she walked off the stage and accepting the congrats from her director and cast, walked off to her dressing room. In a hurry to catch up with her, I quickly ran down the ladder as the "Gary and Lary" sketch began.
I ran down the hall to her dressing room, coming to a stop outside her door when I heard squeals and giggles of delight. I slowly opened the door, to reveal a Happy-Dancing Sonny. I let out a short chuckle watching her be proud of herself. She turned at the noise, cutting off the laughter.
"Chad?" she asked, confused.
"Sorry to barge in," since when am I the apologetic-type? "But I had heard you singing and had came to tell you that you have an amazing voice, Sonny."
A look of affection came over her face. "Aw, thanks Chad! That was strangely sweet of you!"
I smiled at her as I walked over to where she had taken a seat.
"Well, it's true." I said, sitting next to her. "I was shocked to find out you were actually talented." I gave her a playful nudge and winked.
She giggled and nudged me back. "Ha ha. Wait-how did you see me sing anyway?" She fake-gasped. "The, Chad Dylan Cooper, watches So Random!?"
"No," I said nervously, avoiding her eyes, "I was coming to get my bangs back from Trey, when I saw you performing."
She wasn't convinced, but she let it go. "Yeah, about Trey, I don't even know where he is! One moment he was there in the box, and the next he's gone! Which is the only reason I sang the song in the first place, to fill in for him."
I was confused about the box thing, but ignored it and asked, "So, it wasn't your song?" It didn't sound like someone as selfish as Trey could've wrote it.
"No, it was my song. That's the thing he'd stolen from me. But, Marshall thought it was his, so Trey was going to sing it," she explained. "But then he disappeared, and the next thing I know, I'm out there singing my song."
That makes sense, I guess. However, I was curious on another thing as well. "Why hadn't you told me you could sing before?"
She hesitated, before looking down. I cupped her chin and brought he eyes up to mine, searching for an answer.
"Well?" I asked.
"I-I didn't want to be embarrassed, you know, if you, of all people, thought I wasn't good," she said. 'You of all people?' What's THAT supposed to mean?
"How could anyone think you aren't good, Sonny? You were amazing out there, I couldn't believe how awesome you were." It was true. I really couldn't believe it. But then again, she is Sonny, and Sonny never fails to surprise me.
I realized my hand was still around her chin, and I moved it down on top of her hand, which sent an electric shock up my arm.
Looking into my eyes with a lost expression, I smirked, remembering the day I had told her she was going to fall in love with me. The stumbling, dreaming about me, getting lost in my eyes. And that almost-kiss.
Thinking about that made me look at her mouth, which invited me to lean in close to her mouth. Before I could press my lips to hers, she snapped out of her trance and moved back a few inches. I shot her a confused look, and she sighed.
"I can't do this, Chad. I know your reputation with girls, and I know how our casts would react. I-I just can't," she said to me.
I was hurt that she thought I could ever break her heart like I had with other girls. Doesn't she know how much I care for her? Well, obviously not, if she still thinks of me that way.
As for our casts, yeah, they'd be mad for awhile, but they'd get over it. At least I know mine would. I'm their star. They follow my lead, and if I want to date someone from So Random! they'd have to be okay with that.
"Sonny, I would never purposely hurt you. Ever. And our casts? Well, they'd just have to get over it." And with that I closed the space between us and gave her a soft, sweet kiss that, even though it only lasted a few seconds, was the best kiss I'd ever had.
I opened my eyes to look at her. And she sat there, shocked, before returning the favor with giving me another quick peck on the lips.
I have to ask her now, while the mood's right. "Sonny will-," she cut me off.
"Yes," she said simply.
"But you don't know what I was going to say," I told her.
"Fine," she said, playfully annoyed, "What would you like to ask me, Chad?"
"Sonny, will you go out with me?" I asked hopefully, watching the grin on her face.
"I believe I already answered that question," she said, wrapping her arms around my neck.
"Fine then," I whispered to her, smiling.
"Fine," she said, mimicking my actions.
"Good," I responded back, pulling her closer.
"Good," she replied, tightening her grip on my neck.
Too anxious to continue our fake-fight, I pushed my lips against hers, and we both melted into the kiss, our arms wrapped around each other.
Sonny was in my arms, and I didn't have the worry she'd go for another guy. Let Trey have my fangs, my bangs, and WHATEVER else he wanted because Sonny Monroe just agreed to go out with me. And nothing was worth more to me at that moment than that simple fact.
Yeah, crappy ending, I know. But hey, I tried! Thanks for reading!
