He looked to the horizon. Golden rays and blood red spots cast a spell on the sky.
He stopped looking up to look down the water lapped softly as the tide came in. He bit back a moan of longing.
Why not end his life now all it was, was suffering and tragedy. He could not even save her. No he couldn't think about that.
He had let her die he could have saved her couldn't he. Robin let out a roar of frustration bring his fist to a hard wooden log where it cracked in two.
Just like his relationship.
He let a few tears fall freely from his eyes. No longer would a mask cover those eyes.
No longer would he trouble his loved ones with who he truly was. That had gotten him in enough trouble before.
He had told her the only women he had ever loved and now she was gone.
Leaving him with only bitter sweet memories of their love.
As the black bird in the stream beneath the willow tree
Anger and grief gripped his heart. He bit back another moan he should end it all right here. Right in those very waters.
He looked down again as it got darker the water turned inky black like a huge monster that would swallow him up.
I am no better than the people who killed her.
No better No better.
He had watched her fall cape billowing around her while with one last breath she said the word.
"Robin."
Robin former Boy Wonder let the tears fall more freely now. He had watched that maniac strike with the final blow.
He had then saw red. It had all been a blur watched them fight, watched her die, been so mad then he had attacked.
Out of revenge.
Sad and piped I heard one sing, singing aura lee
He had no mercy no compassion to show to that psycho. Even when he lay beaten at Robin's feet he had kept on.
Out of revenge.
He had killed her, his dear sweet lover and he would pay. Robin promised him that.
Punch after punch until the man lay broken and bloody and dead. He had not even stopped punching then.
Robin let himself be consumed in his grief. He had lost the one true thing that meant everything in the world to him.
His Raven.
He had avenged her but could not be with her now. Unless- he looked to the black water again he could be with her again.
He could hold her in his arms once more. Smell her sweet honey apple perfume. Feel her silky fingers run over his cheek.
Feel her violet hair rub against his temple and feel her delicate lips run over his that was all he wanted.
He did not try to suppress the moan of longing that burst through his lips this time.
Aura lee aura lee made of golden hair
He laid his Robin insignia on part of the log he had crushed.
He hung his mask out like a beacon for all to see.
His electric blue eyes held steady on the water below. He was intent to just end it all.
Slade that bastard why did he have to kill her, he could have killed me, why her.
He had killed a man out of revenge.
He had killed a man for her.
He had killed a man and he had,
No regrets.
Sunshine came along with me and swallows in the air
"Raven."
He then jumped feeling the wind whipping at his face. It seemed to kiss him goodbye.
He laughed as he felt the exhilaration of the fall. He would see her again. He would feel everything again.
He would love again. With no regrets.
He had loved her until his dying day. He would meet her in death. They would live together for all eternity.
Happily Ever After
Ash: lord almighty that was a bit dramatic. That aura lee thing was a song just to let you know.
It was the lullaby my mom always used to sing to me before I went to bed. Until I wrote it I had no idea how short it was.
I guess it always seemed longer because she sang it really slow and low. I love it it's so dark and depressing yet entrancing.
Well if you didn't understand this review about it and I would be happy to clear it all up.
Laters from,
Ash
