"Why did you bring me here?"

He made no motion to fight me as I pulled him along, each step becoming a brand new dance, bringing him into my world.

(which was the feeling of cold metal and the love for fireflies)

"Angel asked you to come, didn't he?"

The hate for his father was glowing quite strong, for me my father is the Captain and it is so very hard for me to hate him, but his affection for me was slowly overpowering it.

(one of the few feelings that brought me warmth rather than the pain they love to give me)

"He was worried about you, Connor, and the destructive path you've chosen to go down. You've changed so very much since I last came; does this mean that you no longer care for me?"

When the letters, which were the only thing besides Simon (who despite it all is always number one) that kept me planted on the ground, slowly stopped coming it was like he was killing me from over ten million light years away.

(and doing so quite well)

"River, you know that I could never stop caring for you."

For the millionth time he took a hold of my hands and I got the chance to see inside that troubled mind of his, knowing that it would prove just how much he really cared.

"Do you believe me now?"

Since I had brought him back with me, the state of surprise slowly fading as we went on (never expecting a visit from this space traveler), it was only now that I got to see the true Connor and that wonderful smile of his.

"I should never have questioned you, Connor, anyone willing to show me the inside of their hearts have to be telling the truth."

Rather than keeping his distance, and breaking this tiny heart of mine (that has been beaten pretty badly over the years), he finally gave me the kiss I had been wanting since the time we had said goodbye.
