Also Happy Valentine's day
Lillian stood at her window and watched the snow outside with a frown. The weather outside was crazy! She couldn't help wondering how her animals and friends were doing. She knew how dangerous blizzards could be. Last year she had gotten stuck out in a blizzard, so she had to stay in the cafe with Howard and Laney. It wasn't bad, and she even got to be the room near Cam.
She let out a sigh as she thought about the town's florist. She met him in spring earlier this year and has grown attached to the young man. There was something very soothing about looking into his green eyes and hearing his soft voice. She knew that he wasn't a very social person and that he was very timid. She had heard from Howard that the older man had let them stay in his home when he had no where to go. Lillian admired Howard for doing something like that.
"What in the?" She looked out her window and could see a purple shade. Was that Cam? Outside her house? In this weather? She hurried to the door and threw it open. She wrapped a scarf around her neck and but on long fluffy boots. She called out his name as soon as she left the house.
She could see the florist looking cold and awkward. He was holding his hands behind his back and his face was red from the cold. Or was he blushing? But she couldn't worry about that now. She has to get him out of the cold.
"Hey Lillian. Kind of cold out, don't you think," he let out a nervous chuckle, "I can see our breaths."
"Follow me inside now," she tried to grab his arm, but he had a firm grip.
"Alright. I'll show you the gift inside."
Gift? She didn't know what he was talking about, but she lead him into her house. He gave it a quick look around before turning back to her. His eyes were averted and his hat seemed a bit closer to his eyes.
"So Valentine's day is today, so I wanted to see you. Even if I had to go through a snowstorm. I know it's not safe, but I really had to give you something today. You're the only girl that I have feelings for."
He held out his hands and gave her a bouquet. When she looked at them more clearly, she could see that they were made of chocolate. She could see milk chocolate and dark chocolate roses.
"Cam, this is so sweet," she gave him a soft smile, her purple eyes starting to fill with tears, "You went through a storm to see me. Thank you so much. That's the nicest thing you've ever done."
"I guess I can't go home though," he blushed, "The snow seems to be getting worse."
"You can get the bed," she kissed him on the cheek, "I don't mind taking the floor today."
