This is the first fic in the Narnia fandom I ever wrote, so I apologise if it isn't that good. I wrote it before church started and I was still testing the waters with these characters. But I hope you still enjoy.

"Ed, what do you make of that one?" Lucy asked, looking up at the clouds. The two kings and two queens of Narnia were taking it easy on the beach at the edge of the Eastern Sea near Cair Paraval, all duties forgotten for the time being. The two eldest of the siblings had long ago taken it way too easy. As in they had fallen asleep in the soft, white sand. On blankets, that is. Susan's ladies-in-waiting would have a fit if she got her dress messy. They would have a fit if Peter got his clothes dirty. They were very particular about all things concerning the four rulers; much to Edmund's chagrin.

The coal-haired boy was laying upon his back with his little sister next to him, arms tucked up behind his head. "Which one?"

"That one," Lucy said, pointing this time.

"This one?" He pointed in an entirely different direction.

"No," Lucy said in exasperation, grabbing his wrist and moving the outstretched finger, "that one."

Edmund moved his hand to another random direction, asking the same question. He was deliberately trying to get on her nerves. It was working.

Lucy sighed, resorting to the silent treatment.

Her lack of answer made Edmund's smile fade. He rolled onto his side, propping his elbow to support his head. "Lu?" No answer. "Lucy? Oh, come now, I didn't mean anything by it."

She still refused to say anything, instead rolling on her side, her back facing her brother. Edmund frowned. Then he brightened. If he couldn't beg an answer out of her, he could certainly tickle it out of her. A sly grin spread across his face as he poked her in the side. She jumped and swatted at his hand. Okay, not quite the reaction he wanted. But he refused to admit defeat.

Yet.

He lunged at her. Unfortunately she anticipated this and rolled away. Edmund hit the sand with a soft thunk. Lucy jumped to her feet, giggling. Edmund glared at her playfully. He jumped up just as Lucy took off running. He chased her down the beach, through the surf, and finally tackling her, collapsing in a laughing heap on the sand.

Lucy was trying to fight her older brother in vain. She also discovered that Edmund could not take what he dished out. Which is why they ended up on their backs again, red-faced, gasping for breath, tears tracing their way down their cheeks. Once her giggles subsided, she face her brother. "You're crazy," she simply stated. Edmund just smiled.

Both older brother and younger sister glanced at the eldest siblings a couple feet away. The sun was high in the sky, indicating it was mid-day. "Should we wake them?" Lucy asked.

Edmund paused. "Not just yet," he replied with a mischievous smile.
