"All clear?"
Fanboy looked around the corner, squeezing the Kyle's hand lightly while the redhead looked nervously around the alleyway, praying nobody would spot them. Fanboy peered around through the back entrance of the Frosty Mart; the inside of the pink-and-blue store had naught a soul to be seen.
"Clear." He pulled his bracefaced boyfriend around the corner of the back entrance and into the empty store.
Kyle hugged onto the Thirteen-year-old's arm, looking nervously around the unlit shop, paranoid for unseen watchers. The couple hadn't quite, eh... 'come out', yet. "Are you sure we're alone here? W-why'd you bring me here?" He was nervous enough, being out in the middle of the night, and now he could almost feel hundreds of unseen eyes staring at him.
"Because," Fanboy said, dragging Kyle behind the front counter and gesturing towards a door marked 'Staff Room', "This is the perfect, secluded, 'alone-time' place. I come here when the store is closed when I want to be by myself." He pulled out the staff room key from his pocket. It was a duplicate of the one he had pickpocketed off of Lenny last year.
"Are you sure there's nobody here? The 'closed' sign wasn't lit."
"Well, the lights are off, aren't they? And do you see anyone?"
"Well... n-no, but-"
"Then quit worrying," Fanboy chided, sticking the key in the lock and turning it silently.
The duo stepped quietly into the room and flipped the light switch, squinting when the light met their eyes. It took a while for their eyes to focus, but when they did, both boys froze.
Boog and Lenny stared back at them like a pair of deer caught in in the proverbial headlights. The two teens were on the couch, Boog leaning one the cushions and Lenny propped up just above his chest. A small strand of saliva still connected the stunned teens mouths, and Boog's hand was frozen in place halfway in the process of taking Lenny's glasses off.
Kyle and Fanboy looked at each other in unison.
"Uh... sorry we should go now sorry bye," Fanboy blurted out while shoving the still shell-shocked Kyle back into the store, slamming the door shut and locking it back before the surprised Frosty Mart employees could react.
The eighth-graders made a mad dash back outside and finally stopped by the park, flopping down wearily on a bench underneath a badly-flickering street-lamp.
"Did... did you see that as well?" Kyle wheezed, still embarrassed from walking in on the couple.
"Yeah," Fanboy replied, rubbing the back of his head. "Who woulda thought, ya know?"
"Quite," Kyle responded. He huffed and leaned on Fanboy, latching onto his arm. "I suppose we don't have to worry about being the only same-sex couple in town anymore."
"And I can probably blackmail Boog into some free Freezy Freezes," Fanboy cackled evilly.
"Don't!" Kyle chided, playfully smacking Fanboy's chest.
The street lamp blinked and flickered and somewhere a bird chirruped good-night.
"So..." he gripped Fanboy tighter. "What now?"
Fanboy shrugged and smiled at his green-eyed wizard. "There's a nice broom closet in Oz's shop."
