A/N This is my first story EVER on here! I read stories on here daily and thought it was time for me to contribute.

Leila gazed up at the stars as they twinkled at her. She couldn't help wondering what secrets they held as they watched Earth spin around after so many years. Leila had read about people called astronauts who would be shot up into the darkness of space to explore it, which was during the rusty days though and had long since ended.

Leila often spent her night sneaking out to Cleopatra park to watch the sky, and every so often one would look as if it were falling down towards her, she remembered it being called a falling star in littlie school. As she lay there she could feel the soft grass beneath her and she would look up and watch the fireworks over in New Pretty town as they exploded, one after the other until they dissolved into darkness once again. She couldn't wait until she became a pretty in just one month's time. She would finally fit in and be normal.

You see Leila was special, not special as in special circumstances (which she still refused to believe existed) but an eerie individual that you would naturally distance yourself from. This was because Leila could read minds. She had been able to since she was a littlie. Her parents had taken her to see some doctors after she complained about voices that would talk constantly. They had done every test possible on her but they never exactly told her what was wrong with her and if they could fix it or not. She heard them thinking that the only thing was to wait until she had the operation and see if that cured her like it did the other bad habits uglies had such as biting their nails or snoring. Even if there was a slim chance of it working Leila still hoped that it would cure her, and then she could actually have friends, because right now nobody wanted to be around her because of how freakish she was. And of course she could hear them think every bad thing they thought about her.

Ok well this is the first chapter! Please review and tell me if you want more, because I would love to write more!
