...Prologue...

She walked through the building of the FBI, after getting on the elevator and getting off at the basement floor, she entered the office of her and her partner. Immediately, she was hammered by him with a new case.

"Scully, ever heard of Umbrella?" He asked.

"Yes Mulder, who hasn't." She said and waited for the next question.

"Well, it turns out that their base of operations in Raccoon City is on the verge of being shut down, and there is this thing saying that something made that happen, that they are responsible for what happened to a building half a mile underground." Mulder explained.

"So, it's not an X-File Mulder." She said.

"Yes it is, there have been rumors of the undead in this building and the Umbrella people aren't talking anytime soon." Mulder said.

"When are we leaving Mulder?" She asked after heaving a sigh.

"Oh, you know me all to well." Then Mulder began to change, his skin started to peel and his teeth growing black and he lunged at her.

Dana Scully sat straight up in her bed, she had had that same dream for the past month now, of Mulder and his unusual death in which she had only heard about when she got back from a mysterious five year "break" she had taken that only Skinner knew the reason of. Then she had read the newspaper and found out about an incident in Raccoon City that Mulder had been present at. A few days ago, the doctors at the morgue had said that Mulder's body had disappeared and there were no signs of some one stealing it.

But, she had seen Mulder before she had left and was certain that he had had a partner, but where was this partner. She decided she wouldn't be getting any sleep anytime soon, so she got up and walked into the living room of her home to see her mentor sound asleep on the couch. She immediately went to the kitchen and sat at her dining table. She didn't hear him come up behind her, but she didn't jump when a hand was put on her shoulder.

"Still having that nightmare?" It was more of a statement than anything else.

"I swear, it's gettng more and more convincing Mac, it's hard to wake up at the right time." She looked up at him and he sat down beside her.

"Why don't we go to this Raccoon City place tomorrow and see what's up, maybe we can find some answers." She smiled and then looked back at her hands. He hated seeing her like this, she had just come back from five years of Immortal training and hoping to see her partner again and finding out that he's dead, it was too much for her to bear alone, so he was there for her.

"Alright." She said and he smiled.
