Yay! So this is a story about Pyro, and why she is at Berk. I just thought it up, and it works. Pretty well too.

Tara had to smile as she watched her daughter play with her best friend, Moki. At least, her surrogative daughter. Pyro had turned up, out of nowhere, and, boy, was she strange! No one had ever seen such a dragon, or a dragon with such powers! From the start, Pyro had been...enchanting things. And her appearance! Pyro was long and slim. She had abnormally large wings, and she was an interesting mixture of black and red scales. The red scales fringed her snout, wings and talons. She also had wonderful burnished bronze, gold, and copper scales that mingled with her black scales. Pyro had "stars" of silver on the underside of her wings too. She stood out. A lot.

So did her friend, Moki. Moki was a silvery white, and he also had color-changing scales, like he was a ChangeWing or something. But he wasn't. He spat acid. And ice. He had a spiky tail, and he hit it off big time with Pyro, the first time he met her. He had corn-flower blue eyes. Once, he had dove after Pyro's toy ball that had fallen in a frozen over lake. A FROZEN OVER LAKE. He had come out with nothing besides the ball, a smile, and a cheery "That was fun!"

Pyro had recently turned fifteen, and she had discovered a strange talent. She could control inanimate objects. Once, for fun, she had once asked a fish to jump out onto the riverbank. Well, what do you know?! It did. She would disappear, and she would tell scrolls to come to her, so she could read them. She would have horrible headaches, and complain of dragons talking, even though no one was. She never did outgrow those wings. She was very happy, nonetheless, and on her birthday, Tara called her to have a nice long talk.

"Pyro! How are you?" Tara beamed as soon as Pyro slithered in with a pause and a slight dip, as she was now bigger than the door to the cave.

"Just fine, Mom." she purred back. Then she became serious. "Moki's little brother, Hawthorne, has Mina's necklace, though."

"Hawthorne and Mina aside, I want to tell you something."

"What?"

'You aren't my daughter."

"WHAT?!"

Tara winced at the callousness of the statement. "NO, NO, no, no, not like that! Odin, no, NOT like that!"

Pyro was actually on the verge of tears. Understandably so, since she thought that she had just been disowned. "So, why did you just say..."she sniffled. "...that I wasn't your daughter?"

"What i meant was that you are adopted." Tara watched Pyro's face. Disbelief, shock, confusion, they all took turns marching across her face.

Pyro though about it. "Are you going to kick me out of the family?" She asked. Stupid, Pyro, real stupid.

"No, of course not. You are a Flyhigh, no matter what." Tara trotted over to a small chest and brought it over. It was a mahoghany chest, with no lock. Tara beamed again, suddenly a five-year old hatchling. "Well? What are you waiting for?" Pyro looked at her, then the chest, and back at her. "It's yours. Go ahead!"

Slowly,Pyro opened the chest. It made a squeaky sound, as the hinge was exerted. Pyro gasped as soon as she saw what was inside.

A little bracelet, studded with rubies and onyx glittered and sparkled in the dim cave's light. It was set in gold. Pyro gingerly lifted it out. Next, was a scroll. Pyro looked at Tara. Tara smiled and said, "Read it." So she began to scan the page.

My Dearest Dragonet.

I regret that I have let you go. Watching you swirl away broke me in more ways than you can ever imagine, dear girl.

I am sorry, that I cannot be here with you right now, but I believe that someday you will find me, and we will be reunited.

My name is Clarity Flyre Stormclaws, and I am a NightWing.

Your father's name is Killer, and he is a SkyWing.

Despite the name, he is a wonderful dragon until one day he disappeared.

I searched high and low.

Then the hurricane cam, and all of Pyrria was shattered.

I fell asleep believing that you and I would be safe.

I was wrong. Gravely wrong.

I knew that I needed to give you another chance at life, so I fastened you to a makeshift raft, and let you go.

That night ranked HIGH in my list of "worst days of my life", list.

i hope, that I can see you again, a fine young hybrid and aminus.

Your loving mother: Clarity Flyre Stormclaws

It went quiet for a moment. Then :"So, she's still out there. "

"Yes."

Pyro sprang up. "Then I'm going to find her!"

Tara smiled. "I won't stop you. In fact, I've already packed a bag."

Pyro seized it and froze. "Wait, how did you get this?"

"I found it when I found you. The bracelet was on your arm. The scroll was attached to it. I saved them both, because I knew that one day, you would want to go after her."

Pyro smiled and said, "I will come and visit...I promise! Why are you looking at me like that?" Then she realized. "Oh, my stars. I am so sorry. Are...are you crying?"

Tara pawed tears from her eyes. "Look at you. Times flies so fast...Good luck!"

Pyro smiled...Lifted her talon in farewell...and flew away.

What she didn't know was that she would meet friends, both dragon AND human on her journey.

Ta-da! Well, that was fun. remember, if you want a one-shot, P.M. me or review!
