It's Valentines Day and Harry's got an idea with the normal gift exchange, but does it all goes to plan. HP/HG.
Harry ran a hand down his dark blue outer robes over a smart black trousers and a white shirt. He stood nervously outside the Charms Professor Hermione Granger's quarter's door, holding a bunch of flowers in his left hand.
He raised his right hand, relax Harry, he thought gently knocking.
He heard the sound of footsteps from the other side of the door, seeing Hermione standing in the doorway smiling.
"Come in Harry, Happy Valentine's"
"Happy Valentine's, Mione."
Harry enter Hermione's quarters, sitting down on the sofa, running his sweating hands down his trousers, after putting the red roses into a crystal glass which now stood on the small table.
He glanced seeing Hermione coming down the stairs, holding a small red gift bag in her hand.
"Here's you're present. You're first this year."
Harry smiled it was their own little tradition that they both took turns in opening presents since they started dating just before their re-take seventh year.
Ron decide to break up with Hermione, as their was just close friends also he went on to play Keeper for the cannons and started dating Jessica Thompson two years above them and an former Slytherin.
Harry glanced down as he unwrapped the red and gold hearts paper; gently he lifted the lid seeing a gold watch. Looking inside the watch face, he noticed a lion cub chasing around a snitch inside. Turning it over he noticed an engraving "Thanks for an amazing five years. Love always, Mione x.
"Do you like it?"
Harry nodded, "It's perfect," he said putting it on his right wrist.
"Here's your gift but before you open it Hermione. I don't want to be your boyfriend anymore ..."
Hermione felt her heart starting to break, clutching the small box as she walked over to the other side of her living room, thinking for the right time to throw it at Harry.
"Why? Why today Harry of all days, you decided to end us. You made a promise five years ago to be together always, no matter what!"
"Hermione, please, just open the present please."
"Why?"
"Please Mione, just trust me."
Hermione kept her back turned to Harry, her eyes threaten to let the tears fall but she won't allow it. Sadly looking down, she started to unwrapped the gift, lifting the lid up seeing a new charm for her charm bracelet. It was a ring, with a note.
Carefully she unfolded the piece of paper, scented with roses; she felt a smile forming on her face as she read the message.
Mione, I'm sorry.
The reason i don't want to be your boyfriend anymore...is because i want to be your husband instead.
Turn around sweetheart; I got to ask you something...
Hermione turned carefully seeing Harry standing, "You're a prat Potter," Hermione grinned sending a hex but missed as he got onto on knee.
Harry breathed in, reaching into his pocket for the real present, gently holding it in a shaking hand.
"Hermione, I'm a stupid prat, Muppet whatever you want to call me for getting you upset. Will let's see, i had a crush on you since. Excuse me, has anyone seen a toad a boy named, Neville lost one."
Hermione put her hand on her mouth, feeling happy tears falling at the memory when their first met.
"That crush turned into like, having someone arms wrapped around my waist while screaming down my ear on Buckbeak, what was it. I really don't like flying afterwards."
Hermione smiled again remembering the flight which made her released she was falling for Harry, but was too nervous to admit her feelings.
"That liked turned into love during the fourth year but i didn't have the courage or the balls to ask you out or after the dance during the hunt. I knew you was upset with a number of things and i didn't want to upset your further." Harry paused, taking a deep breath. "Eventually i got my assed kicked during Malfoy Manor and again in the final battle. I eventually asked to on a date in August and it was the best day of my life, and the rest is history to speak."
He lifted the box up, showing the ring, "Hermione Jean Granger. You are my best friend, my soul mate, my almost everything. Will you make this big Muppet the happiest man in both world and agree to be my wife. Hermione, will you marry me?"
He stood up, gently wiping the tears away, "Sorry Hermione, did you real think i wasn't going to get on one knee."
"Harry James Potter. You can really be a Muppet at times, but you're my Muppet and absolutely perfect for me."
"Si, Yes, in every language," she said giving him a hug.
"I think you are missing something on your left hand, Mrs Potter."
Hermione pulled back, seeing Harry taking out a small diamond ring with their birthstones either side, a Ruby for Harry and a Sapphire of her.
"Do you like it?" asked Harry.
Hermione gently ran her thumb across it, seeing the diamond shining in the early morning sunlight.
"It's perfect, Mr. Hermione Granger."
Harry felt a pair of arms wrapping around his neck, with a forehead resting against his.
"Hermione, do you know what is more perfect."
"No."
"Waking up to my beautiful finance, then my wife, in the morning, for the rest of my life."
"I agree to that, but my husband. But Harry ..."
"Yes love?"
"You are so going to pay tonight getting me upset earlier."
"I'll take it with pleasure," he smirked soon sharing a passionate kiss with his future wife.
"Yuck. Cooties. Stop," started a toddler's voice, "Stop please".
Harry glanced down, still holding Hermione seeing their almost six year old godson, Teddy standing in front of the fireplace, covering his eyes with his hands.
"Remus," Hermione mumbled, noting to herself to ward her and Harry's floo in the weekends or any other day.
"It's breakfast time, not cooties time," smirked Teddy, seeing his godfather bending down giving him an hug as he turned his hair matching black with hints of blue.
Harry walked into the packed great hall holding Teddy hand with his right, seeing him looking at Hermione left hand he was holding, suddenly looking up, with an mischief grin growing on his face.
"Hermione ... warning," whispered Harry, watching Teddy running up to his father, the care of magical creatures professor who just happened to sitting with Dora, Neville also with Severus and Minerva nearby.
"Mummy, Daddy, Aunt Minnie, Uncle Nev, Uncle Sev. Guess what."
"What's wrong Teddy?" asked Remus.
"I'm going to be a page boy," he yelled, causing the Great Hall packed with students to quiet down n
Note to self, you big Muppet. Never talk to Remus or Severus with a sleeping Teddy on the sofa, he thought, that little marauder was awake. He glanced up, seeing Minerva and Dora walking out to look at Hermione's engagement ring.
"So who won the bets, when Harry to going to pop the question," smirked Severus, seeing an annoyed face on his adopted son.
"A betting ring, since when," asked Neville, seeing Hermione and Harry sitting down,
"Since the sorting feast Neville," smirked Minerva, "Well between the staff."
"And the students?," asked Harry.
"I might help the twin terrors in your third year," said Remus, giving Harry a hug, "Dora, might started the order bets, before your fifth year."
"Alright anyone who wants to start putting bets on ..."
Harry rolled his eyes, leaning in to his finance, "Keep the wedding plans quiet and any other future news."
"I agree."
"Harry," smirked Severus.
"What Batman?"
"I'm officially retiring as your children step through those doors."
"Me too," smiled Minerva.
