A/N: Written for the A Prompt Per Pokemon Challenge, Pikachu prompt A – thunderstone.

Pikachu and the Thunderstone

Pikachu hadn't known Ash was still carrying the thunderstone. He hadn't been able to sense the energy at all – but there it was, and Ash was taking it out of that box again and putting it by the bed.

A thunderstone… Pikachu never wanted to see another one of those near him again. Though it was Ash; he knew he didn't have to be afraid of it. Ash would never force him to evolve.

Ash didn't even want him to evolve.

But it was there, and the aches and pains of loss were there as well. That bitter, hurtful defeat. The promise for more power.

But he didn't want that. Pikachu didn't want that. Not at all.

Run, Instinct told him. Run away from that thing. Get stronger.

He followed his instinct, fleeing into the night where he couldn't be tempted by the power that stone offered any more.
