DISCLAIMER! I don't own Naruto. End of story.

Naruto was walking aimlessly around Konoha, and he happened upon the Chuunin exams arena. "This place brings back memories." he said to himself. He went in and sat in the stands. Looking at the empty fighting area, visions of the fights he had witnessed as a child filled his mind, and a faint outline of the hole he had made during his fight with Neji still remained two years later. The reason he had gone all out on Neji filled his mind as well. "Hinata..." The wind started to blow, and he looked in the direction that it was coming from and sees a piece of paper flying towards him on the currents. He caught it and looked at it, because thats what everyone does if a piece of paper comes at them in the wind; they look at it. Anyway, he finds a poem written on it, and was apparently lost in a rush to get somewhere. He reads it, hoping it was by someone he knew, and it said.

Hope and Wonder

Watching and hiding

Behind a tree.

Hoping he doesn't

Notice me.

I see he's determined

To change his fate

I want to change it

Before it's too late.

They said I'm a failure.

My sister, cousin, and Dad.

But the thing I was lacking

Was something he had

At my first Chuunin exams,

Something I'll never forget.

He helped me change.

At least a little bit.

Sitting in my room

Thinking of that day.

Wondering 'When I see him next,

What am I going to say?'

Then I go to my bed,

Thinking 'When won't I flee?'

And wishing for the day

When he'll acknowledge me.

Hyuuga Hinata.

Naruto thinks back to when he took the Chuunin exams with Hinata and tries to figure out who helped her, and after a good ten minutes, figures out it was him. It was staring him in the face the entire time! "I was the one who helped her! I was the one she runs from! I was the one who she wrote this poem about..." After this realization, he writes something on the bottom, and then sets out on a mission to find her.

After searching high and low, turning the village upside down for what seemed like hours, he then thinks of where he saw her right before the fight, and hurries to his training grounds and where he became a ninja. He arrives and looks around, hoping Hinata was there but can't find her. Walking away, slowly and disappointed, he turns his head to the side and in his line of vision was a tree. Behind that tree, he sees a figure. "Hinata?" he called out, but there is no answer as the figure disappears behind the tree. "Hinata, I found something that I think belongs to you."

Hinata slowly comes out from her hiding spot, blushing, and says "Konnichiwa, N-n-naruto-kun." "I found this by the Chuunin exam arena." he began. He leaned in and kissed her forehead. "And I really liked it. See you later." After giving her the folded piece of paper, he left to go meet Tsunade about something. Hinata was blushing so much, her face looked like the Hokage's cloak. After staring for a few minutes after Naruto, she unfolds the paper and finds the poem she had written a few days before. If she was able to blush any more, then she would have. She does spot, however, the thing that Naruto wrote on the bottom. It said "Hinata. I liked your poem. Let's go out for ramen some time! Uzumaki Naruto." There she stood, motionless, and then promptly faints.

I know at some points this seems redundant, but there was no other way to write some points in this. Leave a review!
