This is a poem I wrote for Christmas, and although it's February, I think that the message is still just as true. Plus there are people who celebrate Christmas all year! So, enjoy!

Immanuel's Wish

December

is the busiest time of the year

Exams, gifts, decorations, parties

Everyone runs to and fro

Songs are sung about Santa

And his elves

Bringing gifts to all the children

Music plays about how amazing the season is

Christmas is everyone's favorite

but why?

The break from school and work

The gifts

The excitement

The snow

The decorations

All that stuff about Santa?

This is what Christmas is today.

The first time was much different.

That night,

Immanuel was born

The music praised the little baby

Not a white haired old man with toys

(No offense St. Nicolas!)

Even the stars danced for Him

No one was concerned

With all the hustle and bustle

That year.

Churches and Families

Remember why

Christmas exists

But have we really

Understood the Love

That sent Him to us?

Have we done everything

We can to glorify Him

and no one else?

Do we ever give Jesus

What's on His wish list:

Our Hearts and Souls

?

Don't wait for next year.

Even if it's already late for

Christmas day.

No is the time

To give God

What's on His Christmas Wish List.

You can always give

Him more of you

Everyday

Now is the time

To give God

What's on His wish list.

Just start with this moment.
