Abby, Chelsea, and Max were at the café hanging out and talking when they saw Jennifer and Frankie come in and noticed their faces was full of tears.
"Mom, what's wrong?" asked Abby running up to her, the other teenagers not far behind.
"Abby, honey, I don't know how to tell you this but your father…. he's…he's dead" she said breaking down into Frankie's arms.
When Abby heard that the first reaction she had was to run, run was fast and as far away from everyone as she could. So she ran out of the café and went to a place that she loved, that always made her feel better. The beach. Then she heard a noise behind her and turned around to find Max there.
"Max, how did you know I was here?" she asked wiping the tears away from her face.
"Well I remember I had gotten into a fight with Frankie and I was really mad and upset and didn't want to deal with anyone at the time and you told me that the beach was the perfect place to go" he said, "so I just figured you'd be here"
"Yeah well here I am, you found me, you can leave now," Abby said.
"I'm not leaving until you come with me" Max said, "Every one is worried about you and wants to help you"
"Yeah Max like there going to have time to help me. I mean my mom has Frankie, Chelsea has you and well I don't have anyone anymore" she said as she fell to the ground and buried her face in her hands, "not even Josh"
Max quickly went beside Abby and held her.
"Abby your mom, Frankie, Chelsea and I are here for you too" he said, "and what happened with Josh?" he asked, then he saw her face and noticed she started crying even more, "actually, you know what never mind you don't have to tell me right now."
"No it's okay I will" she said, "well you see Josh told me he loved me, but I didn't love him and I didn't want him going on thinking I did love him so I told him the truth, I told him I was in love with someone else. And its weird I know I don't love him, but right now I just need him so much, as a friend, but he doesn't even want to be friends Max. He hates me."
"Oh my God I'm so sorry Abby" he said holding her tighter, "I'm here for you though, always and forever"
"Thanks Max"
"And Abby if you don't mind me asking, who is the guy your in love with?" he asked. I hope it's me, I hope its me. He thought to himself, you see the truth is Max had loved Abby since the moment he saw her and really the only reason he was with Chelsea was because he made her happy and he didn't want to break her heart.
"No one that would ever love me back" Abby said. It's you. She thought to herself.
