Was encouraged by hansolofan to try a drabble, because she said it was easy to write and took up little time. So, since I'm so busy, I decided to follow her advice and just write something really short! This is my first X-Men fic, so please read on & review at the end (:
Based on X-Men 1, when Wolverine was leaving Xavier's School for the Gifted.
'Wait,' Rogue called as she saw a muscular figure at the doors. She saw the slight tilt of his head as he redirected his attention to her, instead of the doors. She stopped behind him, at a comfortable distance away. 'Don't go,' she said. She expected comfort, some reassurance at least, that he would come back sooner or later. Her heart had been completely stolen by Wolverine, and now that he was going to leave, she nearly couldn't resist pouring out her feelings to him, of him.
I love you Wolverine, thank you for saving my life that day; thank you for being such an amazing friend; thank you for helping me after that evil Magneto wanted my powers for his evil cause, you're really amazing why are you leaving I don't want you to leave why must you leave don't leave I want you here!
Of course, Rogue said nothing of that sort. She merely looked at him, and at once his gaze softened. Pulling off the chain around his neck, he put it into her hand and closed it in for her. 'I'll be back for this,' Wolverine said. Then he opened the door, and then, it was closed again, the only difference being his absence from this side of the door.
She fingered the white fringe she recently acquired. She liked it, but she was afraid to tell him that. What if he viewed her as strange? Or as weird? Or as something worse than a mutant, with powers so different and special? She couldn't bear the thought.
As Rogue stood there, she felt a presence behind her. It felt familiar, like someone she knew well. True enough, she felt warm hands encircling her, and in his own unique Iceman voice, Bobby Drake said, 'He'll be back. Don't worry.'
She turned to face him, and smiled. He smiled back, but her heart didn't melt.
It became like ice itself.
You know what to do! Thanks much :D
