P/C Pairing: Alice & Neville Longbottom

Prompt: Seeker

"I want to be a wizard, mum." It was his monthly visit to St. Mungo's. The seven year old Neville Longbottom looked expectantly at his mother, Alice Longbottom, but knew she would probably smile and nod.

Sure enough, the smile and nod came. Neville didn't know what happened to his parents; all his Gran would tell him was that they don't remember anything, and that he would know why one day. He hated and loved his monthly visits. Hated them because these were his parents and they don't even know who he is! But then again, he loved seeing his mother's bright eyes when he brushed her hair or his dad's smile light up when he tells him he wants to be a seeker. I wanna be a seeker, just like you, he'll say.

He always vented to his mother, he felt that motherly love whenever he was near her.

"Uncle Algie says he'll throw me out the window soon if my magic don't show," Neville said with his eyes cast down.

"Doesn't show, Neville," his Gran scolded as she walked in the room. "I'm afraid it's time to go, pip. Goodbye, Alice, Frank."

Neville climbed up onto his mum's bed and gave her a kiss on the cheek, "Good night, Mum, sleep tight."

He then scrambled over to his dad's bed, gave him a big bear hug and said good night. On his way out the door, he looked back and waved to his parents.

"Good night, Neville," he heard his mum say from across the room.

He was beaming with pride as he met his Gran outside the room; that was the first time his mum called him Neville. I'll see you next month, he thought.

I know, short. But I wanted it to be short, sweet and to the point. Review? Sianora,
