She's always wanted a birthday party, but she hasn't had one since her parents threw her away into the asylum. She's always secretly wanted friends to care about her or people to at least admire her enough to want to celebrate her birthday. No one cares about her, however, no one except Scott, and sometimes, she wonders how much of that is his heart and how much is her trickery.

That thought immediately flees from her when she hears his charming voice inside her mind. No one's going to rain on your parade, Emma, but I need you in the War Room immediately. She goes without hesitation and with no idea of what is about to happen. Even her telepathy has not prepared her for the mutants who come jumping from the shadows. Everybody yells, "SURPRISE!" and "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!", and for the first time in her adult life, Emma glows with her happiness.
