Holding out for a hero

I do not own Newsies in any way. Holding out for a hero belongs to Bonnie Tyler.

It was a full out war in the Bronx. At the present moment, Fox, the leader of the Bronx, had Spot pinned with a knife to his throat. One of the Bronx boys set fire to the lodging house.

Spot saw the flames and said, "If youse and yer boys wanna live, ya bettah get out now".

"Spidah!" Fox yelled to his second, "Get da boys out!"

Upstairs, the only girl newsie in the Bronx, Angel was sitting on her bed.

She saw the smoke coming into her room. She tried to yell for the boys, but no one heard her.

The boys got out of the lodging house.

"Wait! Angel's still in dere!" Spider yelled.

"Foaget 'er", Fox said.

"She's me sistah!" Spider yelled.

Spot threw down his cap, cane, and slingshot. He ran into the burning lodging house.

Angel hadn't been down stairs, so she had to be upstairs.

He found Angel's room.

Angel's right side was engulfed in flames.

Spot took off his shirt and wrapped it around her.

Suddenly, the lodging house collapsed.

"Angel!" Spider yelled.

The Brooklynites ran to the boys from the Bronx. They pulled a still breathing Spot from the rubble.

"Angel", Spider breathed when he saw Spot holding her hand.

Spider pulled Angel from the rubble. He smoothed her hair from her face. "Angel", Spider said.

She opened her eyes. "Where am I?" she asked.

"Outside da lodgin' house. It burnt down. Spot saved youse", Spider said.

Angel looked over at the blonde sitting next to her. "My hero", Angel breathed. She sat up and kissed the King of Brooklyn.

The Brooklynites and the boys from the Bronx cat called.

The Bronx and Brooklyn were finally united.
