Slavemaster – Lover Part 1
The Vampire Kosta walked menacingly among the slaves, slowly, caressing the handle of the whip in his right hand. Kosta was over six feet tall, with crew-cut short hair that framed a handsome, thin cruel face; glittering, close-set blue eyes that were ice cold. A slight scar traversed the lower left hand side of his face ending just short of his jaw. He had been human, long ago, but when turned on that fateful night, when his young lover Serena was taken from their home. He was thinking of her more and more lately, the loneliness and longing for her, almost tearing him apart inside. He remembered her long, luscious ebony hair, porcelain face, huge violet eyes and small, slim delicate frame and her sweet and innocent disposition. Emotion built within him, that threatened his sanity and he had to vent before he went insane. Kosta stopped, observing one of the lycan slaves pausing at the rockface, his pick by his side.
"Lycan!" roared the vampire, drawing his whip and bringing it to an arc, crashing against the lycan's back. "No rest dog!"
Kosta continued his cruel assault on the lycan, revelling in each stroke, until his hand was grabbed by Lucien, the Master Viktor's 'pet'. Kosta swerved to face, Lucien, his face contorted by hatred. Lucien stood his ground, staring the vampire down.
"That's enough!" said Lucien
"You dare raise your hand to me?, Kosta was outraged, he roughly shoved his gloved hand out of the lycan's grip
"I said that's enough!", repeated Lucien, with Kosta's victim, sitting dazed in the background
With this, Kosta drew his sword, holding it to Lucien's throat "So says the master's dog hmm? You will not always be his favourite, and when you fall, I will be there!"
"I look forward to it!", replied Lucien. Both men knew the ultimate truth – Kosta would be there at Lucien's downfall.
A young woman observed the altercation from her place in the castle. She was in her twenties, with long flowing ebony hair and pale face; her violet eyes brimmed with unshed tears watching the man she loved with all her being, who was no longer human; the man she longed to be with. She came to the Corvinus Coven two weeks ago as a paid servant to Council member Coloman, who despite being a vampire himself, treated her with kindness. She performed domestic and some secretarial duties and it was during an errand she first sighted Kosta. He was heading toward the dungeons, amid a phalanx of other guards – it was unmistakable. Her breath caught and she fought the impulse to approach him, for he was working and she would never compromise or seek to undermine him.
