Penny ran into the ward in distress to see a heavily bandaged Leonard sitting up in bed in the hospital. She ran into his arms tears streaming do her face.
"Are you okay I was so worried when Sheldon called to say you'd been injured?"
"its okay penny I'm all right it's just a cut on the side of my head. They are just keeping me in for observation."
"Oh, Leonard I'm so glad you are okay. Don't you ever scare me like that again? I couldn't help but think the worst." She cried.
"I'm sorry Penny, please don't cry I'm fine I promise I have a bit of a headache but they gave me some painkillers to ease the pain. You didn't have to leave work for me I'm sorry for making you worried."
"Leonard you are my fiancé and I will always be there for you so yes I wanted to be here with you. I love you, Leonard." She climbs into the bed with him to get as close as possible to him. Leonard loved it when Penny made a fuss over him, but he was also sad that he scared her and upset her. He held her close, and her smell was intoxicating.
Penny had thought the worst when Sheldon told her over the phone that Leonard was in the hospital. And he had a head injury he didn't tell her the extent of his injury. It made it hard for her not to think the worst. She couldn't lose Leonard. Not now they were engaged and wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. She loved him with all her heart. For the first time in a long time penny prayed. Please let him be okay. She couldn't stop the tears even if she tried. She looked up at Leonard and asked.
"So what happened, Leonard?"
"Well, Sheldon was being Sheldon and annoying he just wouldn't shut up about this formula he was working on his board."
"Was he going crazy because his calculations did not add up?" She grinned.
"Something like that and to shut him up and take his mind away from the multiplication as the maths gets more complicated I decided to take him out.
"Was that enough to shut him up.?"
"No, so I took him to Disneyland."
"You went without me." She raised a brow.
"Err well sorry it was a spur of the moment thing and it wasn't planned."
"You still went without me." She pouted.
"Anyway, when we got there he couldn't decide which ride he wanted to go on first. Eventually, we decided to ride the roller coaster.
"You went on a roller coaster." She said surprised.
"Yeah, it's only a ride." He said confidently.
"As It came up to the top of the loop, I noticed a sign by the side of the track. I couldn't read it because it was very
small, and I couldn't make it out and I didn't have my glasses on for safety reasons and it's was bugging me."
"Leonard I know you are smart and all but why."
"I was curious." He defended.
"So what did you do?"
"Well I decided to go round again, but we went by so quickly that I still couldn't see what the sign said."
"You went on again," she shakes her head in disbelief. You are an idiot you know that right."
He looked away. "Yes, I realised that now."
"So how did you get the cut?"
"Well, I was determined to read that sign, so I went round a third time this time with my glasses. Just as we reached the top, I stood up to get a better view." "And did you manage to see what the sign said this time? asked Penny."
"Yes." He looked embarrassingly away and quietly said.
"Remain seated at all times."
