Steve Rogers (Formerly Known as Captain America) was confused. For some reason Clint, Sam and Scott all gathered together with beers in hand in the (borrowed) living room. They were talking about something, but even with enhanced hearing he couldnt make out what they were saying. So he grabs himself a beer, knowing that just because he cant get drunk doesnt mean he cant enjoy the taste.
"-was on an op when I heard the news." He hears Clint saying as he enters. He tilts his head, but sits down on the couch next to Sam.
"I was in school. The teachers wouldnt tell us what was going on, but they made the entire school gather in the library. Finally they turned on the news and we saw the second plane hit." Sam recalls, tears gathering in his eyes.
"I was at a McDonald's, skipping school. I actually didnt hear about it until I got home. My Mom was very scared for me." Scott adds. The three turn to Steve.
"We know where Steve was that day." Sam nods. Steve scrunches his eyebrows together in confusion. "What day?" He asks. As one the three men do a spit-take.
"You mean no one told you about 9/11?!" Clint exclaims incredulously.
"Whats 9/11?" Steve is clueless. Bucky stumbles in, half asleep and rubbing his eyes.
"On September 11th, 2001 two planes crashed into the world trade centers, one plane crashed into the Pentagon, and one plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania due to heroic passengers
.The attacks resulted in the deaths of 2,996 people and the injuries of 6,000+ others." Scott rattles out sadly.
"Thats one reason I joined the Military." Sam mentions as Bucky hearing what they were talking about, says kinda quietly "I was supposed to be on one of those planes for a mission but then got transferred to a different flight..."
"Wait, WHAT?! You could have been one of them?" Steve questions, scared. Bucky silently nods.
"So much death."Steve whispers "What happened?" He speaks louder.
"The planes were hijacked by terrorists trying to make us afraid, but instead of being afraid we started the War On Terror" Clint states
