"Depths of Darkness"

The light it surrenders. The darkness it compels. The children were running. The shade of hell.
Shadows behind them. No where to turn. The children are dying. The children will burn.

The chill of the ice. Is this how it feels to die? The heat of the night. Visions in sight. Loss of heart. Sleepless star, death of sympathy. Crash of the somber shadows, and flashes of warmth. I can see it but to feel it is gone.

I want to go back home, where my angel awaits, to take me home to a better day. A day with the sun and breeze in the wind. Back to the days when I had a friend. But the light took me in, and I had to follow. If not the spirit of my kindness, I'd have to swallow.

Now I sit here, with only a glimpse of what life was like. Nothing to close or secret in mind. It is my time to go, for I shall wait, for you to come too. A soul I can keep. You aren't that late. Come with me.
