AN: I'm not really sure what exactly this is, but I'm fairly sure it came from reading too many cliched stories and wanting to see how many I could pack into a little oneshot. I'll take a story request from whoever can point out the most cliches/overused fandom tropes in here.

Asch has been watching his replica for a very long time. Up close, from afar, from the inside of his head and from the outside. Every detail captivates him, but the words never come out the right way when he tries to speak to him. They end up arguing, or fighting, which is almost as good anyway, because if his replica's captivating when standing still, he's positively enrapturing when in motion.

But it never gets him any closer to what he wants, and often seems to give his replica impressions that work counter to his goal.

And today is another attempt, which seems to be quickly escalating towards failure again. They're arguing, and it's about something stupid, and it is most definitely going to come to blows soon if he doesn't do something different.

But he can't think of anything else to say, and he's not going to get anywhere with words anyway, so he pulls Luke in to kiss and holds him tight, inescapable.

"Let me go!" As soon as he is able, Luke is thrashing and struggling and yelling, as best he can in his current position.

So Asch lets him go, ashamed at his own impulsiveness and having earned another strike against himself in his replica's mind. He backs off, begins to move away.

And is promptly tackled by a giddy Luke flying at him, who surely seeming to be trying to kiss him senseless, and only backs off long enough to say, "I said let go, not stop. C'mon, you were eager enough a second ago."

Asch can only stare at him in stunned silence.

"There's a difference between eagerness and desperation," slips out before he can stop it, but when his brain finally kicks back into gear a sly grin stretches across his face. "Let me show you."
