I'm Already There

Shane settled into the bed that was in his hotel's suite. It was cold in the room so he curled up deep into the blankets. He took out cell and pushed 2, speed dialing his wife. Mitchie. He needed to hear her say, I love you, just one more time. On the second ring, she answered.
"Shane," Mitchie quickly asked.
Shane felt a smile spread on his face, just from hearing her sweet musical voice. "Hey, babe." The sound of laughter came from the background of the phone.
"Sasha, stop bouncing the ball on your brother's head," Mitchie scolded. Shane chuckled picturing his seven year old, dark haired princess, bouncing a small foam ball on her four-year-old brother.
"Yes, Mom," her little voice said. Shane felt a small pain in his heart. How he missed his little girl. Tickling her, hugging her, singing to her and giving her kisses. Shane felt a familiar burn behind his eyes as he thought about his little girl.
"Can you put, Sasha on the phone for a second, Mitch," Shane asked.
"Give me a few seconds." He could picture Mitchie smiling into the phone. "Sasha, want to talk to Daddy?"
"Daddy!!!" the little girl cried. "I want to talk to Daddy! I want to talk!" Mitchie chuckled.
"All right." Mitchie passed the phone to Sasha. Her little voice coming through crystal clear, making the burning harder to ignore.
"Daddy, when are you coming home? I miss you," Sasha said in a cute pouting voice.
Lyrics popped up in Shane's head and he started to sing to her, "I'm already there. Take a look around. I'm the sunshine in your hair. I'm the shadow on the ground. I'm the whisper in the wind. I'm your imaginary friend. And I know I'm in your prayers. Oh I'm already there."
"Really Daddy?"
Shane smiled, "Yes, Princess. I'm always with you." Shane felt a tear appear in his eye and he quickly wiped it away. "I love you, Sasha."
"I love you to, Daddy," Sasha said happily and then whispered, which wasn't really a whisper. "I think Mommy wants to talk to you."
"What makes you say that," Shane whispered back.
"I don't know." Shane laughed. That was his daughter.
"Put Mommy on the phone dear," Shane asked.
"Okay. Mommy, Daddy wants to talk to you."
"What did you say to her? She's all smiles and she willing to go to bed now," Mitchie asked.
"I sang to her, and think it could be a hit." Shane brushed a bit of hair from his eyes.
"I miss you, Shane."
"I miss you too, Mitch." He missed everything about her, her lips, face eyes, hair. Waking up with her next to his side. Cuddling and holding her close at night.
"Don't worry about the kids, they'll be okay."
"That's only going to make me worry more, you know that."
Mitchie giggled. "It's probably getting late in Florida. I'll see you soon, and I miss you, Shane."
"I know, and I miss you to."
"Love you.
"You to."
Shane closed his phone reluctantly, but pulled a piece of paper close to him and started to write. Somehow, he just knew that the song would be a hit and he was dedicating it to his family.
A/N so I was listening to one my you tube play lists and the song, I'm already there, I don't know who owns it, came up and the plot just folded out with it. Please review.
