Always wait five and a half hours

"Am I ever gonna see you again?"
"You can't."
"I- I Love you."
"Quite right too. And I suppose, if it's my last chance to say it, Rose Tyler-"
Rose Tyler broke into sobs as the image of the Doctor faded.
"Mum, he's gone. He's gone." Rose sobbed.
"I know, love. Let's start our drive home, sweetheart." Jackie hugged her heartbroken daughter.
"No. I want to wait for him. He promises to come for me no matter what." Rose wiped away some tears.
"Rose, he's gone. He can't come back." Jackie said.
"You're wrong! The Doctor always will find a way back to me!" Rose yelled, the tears flowing freely.
"Alright, we'll wait a little longer." Jackie relented. "You can stay here, and the rest of us will be at a hotel."
"Ok. I will meet you there. I just- I just need some time alone." Rose said, wiping away more tears.
"Alright, sweetheart." Jackie said as they left her on the beach.
Rose sat in the sand, and stared into the sky. He was up there looking for her, she could feel it. After a while, she looked at her watch.
"I've been waiting for 3 ½ hours." Rose said to herself. She started thinking of all their adventures. The best of them. Every time he would touch her, the first time they met, the daft plans he would devise.
Looking down at her watch again: "5 hours. Still nothing. Doctor, please." She thought. A little while later, she heard a distinct sound. A whirring sound that could only be one thing. Rose looked once more at her watch. "It's been 5 ½ hours. Did he do it?"
The Doctor ran out of the TARDIS. "Is this the right universe? Is there a Rose Tyler anywhere?" He turned, and saw her.
"Doctor!" Rose smiled, and ran to him.
"Rose, you can come with me, but we only have a short time. If you want to stay you can because if you go with me, you can never come back." The Doctor said in a rush. He squeezed Rose within an inch of her life. Neither wanted to let the other go.
"Like I said before, I made my choice long ago, and I'm not gonna leave you." Rose said. "Now, wasn't there something you were trying to tell me?"
"Rose Tyler, I love you." The Doctor said.
"I love you too." Rose said. She pulled him close, and kissed him.
"So, you're going to come with me?" The doctor asked.
"Yes, let's go tell my mum." Rose said.
"Ok. How long did you wait for me?"
"Five and a half hours." Rose said.
"Rose, he came. You're going with him right?" Jackie asked. She knew her daughter needed this, and was willing to lose her.
"Yeah. Bye, mum. Love you." Rose hugged her mother goodbye.
The Doctor and Rose walked into the TARDIS. "Rose?"
"Yeah?" Rose asked.
"Always wait 5 ½ hours." He grinned that toothy grin of his.
Rose kissed him, and they were off again to explore time and space. Like it should be.
