A/N: Hello people! I know I haven't been around in a while, I have had a bit of a writers block, But after watching the 50th and seeing all the little nods to River I wanted to write this. I know this isn't something The Doctor would ask himself but I wanted to have River mentioned more boldly so I wrote this. As much as I wish I owned this I own nothing! Please review!

He had wanted to know what in all the galaxies could make his eleventh face forget such horrible things that were grained so deeply into his mind that it haunted his every move. But then again he wasn't as bad off as he had sort of expected.

"For once I would like to know where I'm going"

"No you really wouldn't"

There was one thing he had to ask his older self before he got back on his TARDIS alone and forgot everything, if he would only remember this for a little while then it couldn't hurt to ask could it?

He looked at his older self with his goofy bow tie and floppy hair and smiled a bit "I know you can't or really won't tell me where I am going but…is there anything for me to look forward to?" he asked.

His older self who, even though he had a younger face, had centuries old eyes that were full of mystery and possibility. He looked up at him with a sad smile and nodded. "River," he said, the name passing his lips without a second thought. He watched at his younger self's eyes slightly widened and his lips parted.

"Is she worth it?" he asked softly, almost like he was afraid of the answer he might be given.

Eleven gave a fond smile, a sad one as memories passed in his mind. Healing her wrist in Manhattan after she broke it trying to get out of a Weeping Angel's grip, their playful and witty banter every time she was on the TARDIS and even the day she became River Song, fresh from her beautiful regeneration. He didn't even need to think about his answer as he looked up at his counterpart "Yes she is" he answered.

Ten nodded slowly as another, much more dangerous, question came to his lips. "Do we love her?" he asked barely above a breathy whisper. He was afraid of the answer because not only did he know what happened to River already but he knew what happened to people he loved. She knew his name when he met her, it must have meant that she was important to him but he wanted to hear it from his own lips.

All the talk of River made Eleven kind of fall into memories of her; the way her lips tasted when they kissed, the feeling of her fingers running through his hair, the beautiful sound of her laugh and even the smell that was always just so purely River. He looked up at his former self with a knowing smile on his face. "It will scare you how much you will love her" he admitted, knowing he would forget this conversation.

Ten nodded, knowing Eleven was already head over heels in love with a woman that he himself had already met once. But by the look on his counterpart's face…the best had yet to come.
