Sling! Blades across the battlefield met each other in a striking, yet outstanding manner. A small beam of light bled out of the suntanned vapors in the sky; it reflected off of the armor and weapons that were in motion below. "Charge!" An impressive warrior stood in the middle of the battlefield on his white mare. His crimson armor blinded his enemies and fellow soldiers, and the banner tied around his forehead showed off his clan's luxurious symbol. "March!" The footsoliders that he administrated followed his commands clearly, for they feared of their own life if they hadn't. Yukimura was this bright officer that outmatched his foes blatantly, but he was not stronger than the human brain. Behind the Sanada army, a horse-drawn carriage shielded a important figure in these times. He was elderly, but back in his day he took up the sword plenty of times. The Lord of Ueda, Sanada Masayuki! "Son, Yukimura has been an inspiration to most. In this battle I want to keep an eye on him, for if he gets harmed I could be frightened to death." The offspring of the grand general nodded. Masayuki dipped his brush into ink, and commenced to write his signature on a letter by Lord Hideyori.
"Father, what the hell does Hideyori want from us away? He's a spoiled brat that wants people to fight his battles, no?" Masayuki tapped his son's wrist with the damp ink brush. "Don't you dare speak of Hideyoshi's boy like that! He would be the next Kampaku I'll have you know. He's more intelligent that Shingen's child for sure." Nobuyuki sighed because he heard many stories of the unfortunate struggle in the Battle of Nagashino. "I'm confused of your obvious ignorance to our history Nobuyuki. You need to stop sneaking off with the enemy." Nobuyuki sucked his teeth and looked off to the side. "You're too old to be speaking like that. It's not like you and mother haven't had a romantic relationship." Masayuki gave Nobu a no-teeth smile, while continuing with his political matters. The carriage became dimly silent. Masayuki finished his business and handed the letter to Nobuyuki. "When we get to Sekigahara, hand that to Lady Yodo's servant, she hangs around a man named Mitsunari. She's eye-catching; you should get to know her." Nobuyuki snatched the letter from his old man and swore. Masayuki rose up and slapped his son in his face. "You just don't understand the love that me and Komatsu…" A loud clapping noise could be heard from the wagon. "That is Tadakatsu's daughter! Don't you realize how that affects us? What if word comes out of this relationship to Ieyasu's men? They'll send their Iga servants to hunt you down and murder you. I just don't want that. Not to my son." A small tear shed from Masayuki's eye.
Wiping the tear from his father's face, Nobuyuki looked up with a smile. "I know you don't want me to see her, but I will. I just don't want my old man to cry. A strong samurai shouldn't show himself unprotected."
