Katrina remembered a time when nothing was wrong with her.

A time without pain, without despair, without war-

She remembered a time when she didn't look down and see bloodstained claws, when she looked in the mirror and didn't see demonic red eyes.

Claws that have killed and eyes that have watched unemotionally as mother begged mercy for child-

She remembered happiness, love, friends, family.

"Katty, look!" a young boy pointed, "Volbeat!"

"Folbweat?" little Katrina stood at attention at the bug-like pokémon flitted through the air, lights flashing in beautiful harmony, "Pwetty! Pwetty Folbweat!"

The boy laughed, and watched and little Katrina bounded through the meadow, chasing the startled Volbeat in a childish game.

Games…

And this was just another game, she thought as she stared at the red on her long, long claws. Pure white claws that always seemed to be blood-red whenever she looked at them.

A game to any human, to all humans. All just a game, to those who matter.

Katrina remembered a time when she was happy, when she was loved.

Katrina remembered when she wasn't a killer, when life wasn't just a game that didn't matter except as a little token that kept track of who was winning.

But then, that was back when she herself was still alive. Back when she was still human.

Back when she was innocent enough not to realized that this was the way it always was-
