A long time ago, back when I was in high school I began to work on a fanfic unlike any other… An entirely original idea based on an over used concept that set my blood on fire and I wrote for days in a notebook a fic that would make everyone kneel before me in greatness.
Unfortunately, that notebook was lost and I never recovered from the set back… all attempts at rewriting it failed to hold a candle to what I had originally wrote… For years I have tried every so often to recreate that master piece and I have finally given up...
HOWEVER, I will see if someone else can take up the mantle and create a fic that will astound readers and its original creator… I give to you...
The Eye Of The Beholder Challenge
The concept is simple, the same as so many others that have come before, Naruto loses an eye to be replaced with another...
However, unlike all the other times where he has either regrown the eye with the help of Kurama to gain some new/old/combination Dojutsu, implanted with a spare Sharingan/Byakugan/etc…, or implanted with a given/taken eye from a dead/dying Sasuke/Kakashi or Hinata/Neji...
The eye will be replaced with one from his newly deceased Teammate… Sakura Haruno.
The idea is simple, Sakura is either dead or dying and one of her eyes is taken/given to replace Naruto's missing eye. She can either give it to him with her last dying breath if she's already been trained by Tsunade or have it taken from her body by Kakashi/Tsunade/Anyone-qualified to do the transplant.
Now you are probably wondering why this seems like such a big deal, its been done before, replacing an eye from dead teammates. Ran into the ground even, however here is the main part of this challenge.
Naruto must now deal with the consequences… They say that beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder… and that the Eye is the Window of the Soul… It is also the perfect vessel for a certain second personality to hitch a ride in.
Naruto is now saddled with Inner Sakura, the last surviving fragment of his teammate.
That is all you have to do, you can take the story in whatever direction you want from here, but for reference I originally intended for this to be a Tragedy and hurt/comfort story. So to reiterate the points of the challenge.
1: Sakura Haruno must die.
2: Naruto now has Inner Sakura in his head
3: Have fun with this and do your best.
