Prologue - Into the Night
Thunder crashed in the night sky as a blond haired girl ran through the forest at blinding speed. She didn't dare to stop, nor she dare look back. She knew they would come after her for what she saw. As she turned the corner she barely missed the red beam shot at her. Swerving on her heal to a stop, she let out a soft cry as she gripped her bleeding shoulder. The boy just stood there with an unemotional face, his cobalt blue eyes filled with disgust and disappointment.
"Pathetic, even for a whelp like you." He said in a cold, emotionless voice. She met his gaze with pure fear, adrenalin taking control of her body. His eyes started to glow red as he shot laser beams at her. Realizing his motive barely in time the blond girl ducked and rolled down the forested hill toward a river.
"Do you really think I can let you go after what you just witnessed?" his voice echoed throughout the woods filling her with a new wave of fear. She landed in the river with a loud splash and winced at the sound of water echoing through the silent air. She suddenly felt a sharp pain as she felt her hair being yanked up. She opened her baby blue eyes, once so innocent, to meet the empty eyes of a heartless killer.
She squeaked and brought her hands up to her hair, trying to break lose. The boy merely jerked it harder then sent her into a suffocating dive under water. When he pulled her back up she coughed out ice water with a wheezing breath, only to be shoved back under and have the whole process repeated again.
When he pulled her up again he whispered in her ear "you shouldn't have followed us, maybe you could have lived to see another sunrise." The blond girl met his eyes with a pained glare, "you killed the m-mayor and you p-poisoned the streets of Townsville with your lies and threats! You and your brothers ruined everything just for fun! I-if I hadn't fallowed you no one would have f-found out about the mayors murder!" she yelled through strangled breathes. He looked at her blankly sending a chill down her spine.
"You were always too naive and ignorant for your own good, little bubbles. Hopefully you now realize what a cruel world we live in." he said in a monotone voice. Bubbles felt a new rush of energy as she spat at boomer "it's only cruel because of cold-hearted people like you!" she kicked his leg from under him sending him crashing down into the water with her hair still in his grasp. She took a quick breath before she felt herself submerge under water. She reached to her boot and broke a metal shard from its surface. In a swift movement she cut her hair free from his grasp and jammed the shard into his left kneecap. As he recovered from the shock he winced at the sudden pain. Using this opportunity she broke through the surface of the water with a blue streak trailing behind her.
Flying into the raining night, She saw boomer from the corner of her eye emerge from the water ready to chase her only to sharply stop with a pained expression etched on his face. "Not bad for a whelp like me." She muttered. She sped up her speed, determined not to get caught until her message of the mayor's death and the villains' intentions reached the city of Townsville.
