It had been two days since Harry Potter had died at the hands of Draco
Malfoy and Severus Snape was still in a state of shock. He didn't want to
believe his lover was dead. His eyes would dart to the door of his chamber
every other minute, just hoping that Harry would stroll into the room,
green eyes dancing with passion. That's how Severus remembered Harry, he
remembered him as a clever, caring and very passionate young man. That's
what he was and so much more. It could not be denied. Harry was the best
thing to happen to the Hardened Potions Master but now he was gone.
Draco Malfoy had no intention of killing Harry, or at least that's what he claimed. He just thought he would pick a fight with him and then get him in trouble. But Harry didn't react to Draco's insults; he just walked right by. That infuriated the blonde boy. He kicked Harry in the back of the leg, which made him tumble to the floor. Nobody was in the hallway where this was happening so Draco saw it was a chance to get a few good hits in. Before he could even think about what he was doing he was taking all his frustrations out on the limp body of Harry. The Boy Who Lived coughed and jerked erratically with every hit. Draco couldn't stop himself, he said he felt as if his kicks were not colliding. He was out of him mind with guilt when they found him cowering in the owlry. He had kicked Harry in the head once and once was enough. He was dead before Ginny found him.
The girl was helpless. She wanted to go for help but she didn't dare leave Harry's side. She finally decided to run to find help. She was running down the halls when she smacked into Snape's hard chest. He remembered her squealing in pain and rubbing her nose. She soon recovered and begged Snape to follow her. He wasn't sure what was happening but he was worried. When they reached Harry he let out a horrified gasp. His eyes filled up with tears and he yelled at Ginny to get Madame Pomfrey and Dumbledore. The redhead ran away with her orders and Snape fell to his knees, cradling Harry's bloody head in his lap. He could hardly remember the words he said to Harry but it was along the lines of "Don't you dare. Don't leave me." His tears poured out and he was sure he would be dry inside by the time somebody got there to help. He pulled his lover's body up against his chest and held him there. He whispered that he loved him and rocked him gentlely. Moments after Ginny had left; Hagrid came barrelling down the hall towards the two. Severus remembered the look Hagrid gave him before reaching down to pick Harry up and take him to the hospital wing. It was a look of concern but it had hints of understanding behind it. Severus knew that Hagrid knew about his relationship with Harry. The men rushed to the hospital wing, both of them crying and not trying to hide it. Within minutes most of the teachers and all of Harry's friends were beside his bed. Hours after that, they were all saying goodbye. Madame Pomfrey had declared Harry gone. He was dead, just like that. No amazing battle with Voldemort, He just died at the hands of a bully.
Severus couldn't help but cry every time he went through the events. He wanted so badly to hold Harry again. To kiss him once more, just to fall asleep next to him. He wanted to say that he loved him once more.
